British singer Mae Muller has claimed she was "fed to the lions" during her Eurovision Song Contest performance in 2023, where she finished second from bottom.
The 27-year-old London-born artist represented the UK in Liverpool, where the contest was hosted on behalf of Ukraine.
Speaking on social media platform X on Thursday night, Muller expressed frustration about her experience two years after her performance of I Wrote A Song earned just 24 points, placing her above only Germany in the final standings.
Muller detailed specific issues with her performance, saying: "Sorry, but they put me up there to sing a song which is meant to be sung with heavy autotune (just the vibe of the song) with no proper background vocals."

GettyShe added: "I was nervous as hell, which didn't help," going on to state in a strong response that she was "fed to the lions."
When one fan suggested that perhaps a song requiring autotune wasn't the best choice for the competition, Muller conceded, responding: "I agree with you."
She also sarcastically said she "loved" when asked about a rehearsal where "they made a man sing your backing vocals."
Muller has previously been critical of the Eurovision Song Contest's impact on performers.
A year after her appearance, she accused the competition of not doing enough to protect artists' mental health.
"The pressure is just too much, it's a shame cos I love performing and I love music but the fans were the only thing that made it enjoyable," she stated.
The singer added: "More needs to be done to protect the artist's mental health, because it's not actually normal what they go through."
Two weeks after her performance, Muller described her vocals on the night as "trash" and admitted she worried her career might be over.
Despite her Eurovision disappointment, Muller's career has continued to flourish. I Wrote A Song reached the UK top 10, while her debut studio album, Sorry I'm Late, made it into the UK top 40.
In her recent social media posts, Muller teased that new music was coming, describing her upcoming releases as something of a "palate cleanser".
Meanwhile, vocal trio Remember Monday are representing the UK at Eurovision 2025 with their song What the Hell Just Happened?
The group will perform eighth in the running order at tomorrow night's final in Basel, Switzerland. The last winner to perform eighth was Israel in 1998.

The competition comes as Muller's comments have reignited discussion about the pressures faced by Eurovision contestants and the support they receive.
Her candid remarks about being "fed to the lions" highlight the intense scrutiny performers face on one of the world's biggest musical stages, with millions watching across Europe and beyond.
