Country singer Toby Keith has died at the age of 62, a statement on his website said.
The singer's social media accounts also shared a brief statement confirming the news.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, it read: "Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family.
"He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."
The post was quickly flooded with messages of condolence from followers heartbroken by the news.
One fan penned in response: "RIP to a TRUE Legend, one of the BEST to ever do it, and a die-hard BADASS Patriot who loved his country FIERCELY. You are now with Jesus, in a much, MUCH better place."

A second echoed: "I saw him perform at Kandahar Air Field, just him and one backup singer.
"He was clearly exhausted from traveling all the bases but still wanted to give us a good show, which he did. God bless you, sir. Thank you for caring. Rest easy."
Another weighed in: "Absolutely heartbroken for his family! He was such an amazing singer and songwriter. Prayers to you all! He will be missed by so many."
While a fourth said: "One of my favorites. Toby was the soundtrack to many a night of friendship and cheer. A life well lived and a great contributor."
And a fifth shared their tribute: "My prayers go out to family, friends and fans. Toby was a masterpiece in country music, and role model to those that he served. His name will forever be remembered. Rest easy, Toby."
Keith is survived by his wife, Tricia Lucas, and their three children.
One of his daughters Krystal Keith followed in her father's footsteps to forge a career in music.
Keith had performed as recently as December 2023 and had even toyed with the idea of a US tour in 2024.
