Susan Sarandon blasted for pro-Palestine chant as star claims 'Jews now feel what it's like to be Muslim'

Susan Sarandon has been slammed for comments made at a recent pro-Palestine rally in New York.
The Oscar-winning actor has vocally condemned Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle-East, recently sparking outrage on social media for a number of posts shared.
Even on Monday, Sarandon reposted a video of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters taking to the stage at a gig in Uruguay - a man who has been criticised for his comments on the Jewish faith before.
The post read: "Despite attempts by the Israeli lobby to cancel the event, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd took the stage in Uruguay, donning a Kufiyyah and advocating for an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza."
A few days earlier, Sarandon was pictured at a protest in New York's Union Square and Bryant Park.
According to the New York Post, Sarandon joined fellow protestors in chanting "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" despite its antisemitic connotations.

The 77-year-old even addressed the crowds and is reported to have said: "There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.
“It’s important to listen, it’s important to have facts… you don’t have to go through the entire history of that region, you just have to show the babies that are dying in incubators.
“Those images are enough to show you that something is drastically wrong. We need a ceasefire now,” she concluded as the crowd cheered in response.
While Sarandon had supporters among the protestors, she was met with a number of outraged members of the public on X.

Among her critics was Muslim-American journalist Asra Nomani who comprehensively hit back at Sarandon's comments.
Nomani listed the freedoms she and her parents - who emigrated from India - enjoy in their adopted home of the United States, including how her father became a professor while her mother opened a business of her own.
Nomani also penned: "My mom? Being Muslim in America meant she got to live FREE with the wind in her hair, like @AlinejadMasih fights for women in the Muslim nation of Iran to be able to enjoy."
She also said: "In another 'taste' of being Muslim in America? My family got a pathway to citizenship. You think the Muslim dictatorship of Qatar allows a pathway to citizenship for Muslim slaves, servants or Palestinian Muslims? Hell no...
"In 2002, I fled Pakistan with a souvenir that could have gotten me imprisoned or killed: a baby growing inside of me, a wedding ring not upon my hand. Sharia law makes sex out of marriage a crime in Muslim countries like Pakistan.

"My body? The mullah’s tyranny. And even dare to be an atheist like @YasMohammedxx? It’s also a crime punishable by death — in Muslim countries but not in America!"
Nomani signed off her blistering takedown of Sarandon by saying: "This is a 'taste' of life for a Muslim family in America. Please don’t minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by sanitizing the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life — and freedoms — she offers Muslims like my family. Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country.
"You will come back to America and kiss the land beneath your feet." (sic)
The journalist was soon met by support as a number of people thanked her for speaking out against Sarandon's stance.
