The I Kissed A Girl singer has been called out by the Batwoman actress

Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexual assault, alleging the incident took place at a Melbourne nightclub when she was in her early twenties.

The claims were strongly denied by Katy Perry's representatives who described them as "dangerous, reckless, lies" and "categorically false".

The 40-year-old actress and presenter made the claims on the social media platform Threads, sharing detailed allegations about an alleged incident at Spice Market nearly two decades ago.

In her posts, Ms Rose addressed the delay in coming forward, writing: “I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly.”

She added: “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes.”

In the allegations, Ms Rose claimed that while she was “resting” on a friend’s lap, Ms Perry “bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting v****a” on her face.

Ms Rose alleged that the encounter caused her to “projectile vomit” on Ms Perry.

The actress and model claimed she had remained silent for years because Ms Perry had previously helped her secure a US visa.

“This! And as a woman, for a myriad of reasons, opening up about W on W violence and sexual abuse seems to be 100 times harder than speaking about male predators, at least for me,” she said.

Despite the seriousness of the accusations, Ms Rose initially indicated she did not intend to pursue legal action or file a formal complaint.

However, Ms Rose later added: “Last update on this...

“As of this afternoon, I have finalised all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.”

She continued: “It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages to other people’s experiences, but I’m not.

“I can start the healing process now and temporarily move forward.”

Representatives for Ms Perry have strongly denied the allegations.

In a statement provided to Variety, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer’s spokesperson described the claims as “categorically false”, adding they were “dangerous, reckless lies”.

Ms Perry’s team also suggested that Ms Rose has previously made serious allegations on social media that have been disputed by those named, adding: "Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
