Sir Rod Stewart has taken a fresh swipe at US President Donald Trump, reigniting their long-standing feud with a blunt assessment of their once-friendly relationship.
The 80-year-old rock legend revealed that although he used to count Trump as a friend, he no longer feels the same after witnessing how the businessman-turned-politician has changed since his presidency.
“I’m not a great fan of Trump. I knew him very, very well. I used to go to his house,” he shared, referring to their former neighbourly ties in Florida.
“I live literally half a mile away… We’re both on the beach. I used to go to his Christmas parties. He’s always been a bit of a man’s man. I liked him for that.

“But he didn’t, as far as I’m concerned, treat women very well. But since he became President, he became another guy. Somebody I didn’t know,” he told Radio Times.
It’s not the first time Rod has publicly distanced himself from the controversial president.
The singer went on to clarify the definitive reason for cutting ties, explaining: “I can't count him as a friend anymore.
“As long as he’s selling arms to the Israelis - and he still is. How’s that war ever gonna stop?”

His remarks come after a series of jokes Stewart has made at Trump’s expense in recent years.
During a Las Vegas show last year, the British star mocked Trump’s increasingly orange skin tone during an on-stage roast.
Displaying a large projection of Trump’s changing complexion, Stewart called out the US president’s controversial remarks about former Vice President Kamala Harris, particularly a moment when Trump said Harris “all of a sudden” turned “black”.
Poking fun at Trump’s own abrupt transformation, Stewart told the audience: “I didn't know he was orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn orange.”

He added sarcastically: “I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't, and now he wants to be known as Orange. All of a sudden, he made a turn and became an Orange person. I think someone should look into that.”
This comes as the 80-year-old icon is set to perform in Glastonbury’s coveted Legends Slot this year, but the honour comes with a hefty price tag.
Stewart is flying in his 12-piece band from the US especially for the performance, which will cost him an eye-watering £300,000.
However, with Glastonbury organisers paying just £125,000 for the appearance, the show will leave him significantly out of pocket.
