Sir Rod Stewart's 19-year-old son, Alastair Stewart, has recently revealed he has dropped out of fashion school to pursue a career in the film industry.

The teenager made the announcement at the world premiere of Ocean with Sir David Attenborough at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Alastair had previously embarked on a three-year degree course in fashion design, entrepreneurship, and branding at the JCA London Fashion Academy last autumn.

Revealing the news at the star-studded event, he said: “I was attending that fashion college, but I've left now. I'm in a bit of a transitional period at the moment.

"I'm trying to get into the film industry, and I want to follow my passion,” he told The Mail.

His new career aspirations focus on working behind the camera rather than in front of it, leaving him to explain: “I want to be behind the camera, that's my real passion.

"I've made a few short plays, I write a lot of scripts, and I write a lot of screenplays."

This career pivot comes despite his father once suggesting Alastair could play a younger version of himself in a potential biopic, noting their "remarkable similarity."

Whilst Alastair is currently figuring out his career route and how he intends to get himself into the film business, one of Rod’s eldest sons, Liam, recently welcomed his newborn daughter.

Elsie Skylar Stewart was born on February 3, 2025, and left the Maggie May singer and his wife Penny Lancaster beaming with pride at their new family member.

Posing with the yongster in two sweet snaps, Penny wrote: “So proud to meet little Elsie, what an angel.

“Nicole, Liam and Louie have their baby girl joining them in their new home and how harmonious they are.” (sic)

Their good news continued as a few months later, Penny announced she had welcomed adorable puppies into the family after the heartbreaking loss of their pet dog Bubbles.

Announcing news of her pup's death, Penny wrote: "Our fur baby Bubbles. I still think you left too soon, but I'm thankful for your time. Heaven's lucky to have you and so was I."

The words were written alongside a heartbreaking photograph of Bubbles with Lily taken during the last weeks of his life.

"My fur babies, my gifts from up above, my angels on earth, you warm my heart and lift my spirits. Bubbles our curly one has been diagnosed with cancer and although his recent surgery was successful, sadly it's spread.

"Our Lilly from @battersea keeps him company and never leaves his side and the two of them never leave my side.

“Companions for life, for as long as that life will be and I feel blessed for every moment I spend with them. #dogs #unconditionallove #friendsforlife," she wrote. (sic)
