The Yorkshire Shepherdess has returned to More4 with new episodes of Our Farm Next Door

Amanda Owen has issued an update to her loyal Instagram followers and paid a sweet tribute to those who have worked on the renovations at her nearby farmhouse, Anty John’s.

The family, who currently live in Ravenseat, have been documenting their journey of turning the derelict cottage and farmland into a new family home.

With their progress being captured on the Channel 4 series Our Farm Next Door, Amanda has been open about the challenges they have faced along the way.

In the trailer for the new series, she could be heard revealing: “We have made great strides, but we're a long way from finishing yet. It's been tough going".

Her ex-husband, Clive Owen, also revealed they have faced "extreme" weather challenges, including heavy snowfall and rainfall.

She also shared her hopes for the project's impact on her children and said: “What I want for these children is for them to be able to look back and be able to say 'we did that’.”

In her recent update, she shared a montage of images of the progress of the barn across the months and included the army of people who had helped with the renovation.

She captioned the post: “For those of you that have tuned into Our Farm Next Door, here are a few familiar faces.

Just a few good folk who are involved in the huge undertaking that is the renovation and build of the farmhouse. I can’t tell you how much their specialist skills, expertise and knowledge is valued.

“Their enthusiasm and tenacity to keep going, whatever problems and issues are thrown at them and to be part of what has to be the loosest of plans.

“All managed by someone (me) who began with only a vague idea and is solely reliant on their advice and input involves a lot of trust in my part and a lot of pressure for them."

Taking aim at the newfound fame and scrutiny they'd encounter after agreeing to appear on the show, Owen continued: “Also, to put yourself in the spotlight and under scrutiny is not something to be taken lightly. But yet they have.

This whole project could not have happened without them.

“I am grateful….I can’t name everyone involved, I’m not even sure that they’d all want a name check, but to Richard, Kelly, Dan, David, Harry, Philip, Tommy, Capper, Sonny, Derek and Ken and more. Thank you, truly thank you.”

Whilst the renovation has been in full swing, it hasn’t come without its challenges, as the mother of nine recently revealed the family was plunged into darkness at their Ravenseat home after their electricity was cut out.

Lighting candles for illumination and stoking up the fireplace with wood to provide essential heat during the outage, she shared it was a normal occurrence for where they lived.

She shared the update with her 530,000 Instagram followers, posting a photo of her youngest children gathered around the roaring fireplace at Ravenseat.

"No power. No problem," she simply captioned the image, adding the hashtags #candlelight and #fire.” (sic)

Owen is also no stranger to taking breaks from the public eye as interest in her family heightens.

The mum-of-nine closed Ravenseat to visitors last year and regularly takes social media breaks. However, she has also recently sparked concern among some fans after returning to the limelight with an appearance on Lorraine causing debate.
