Reuben Owen found himself in a tight spot in the latest episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, when a festive delivery mission turned into an unexpected call for help.

The 21-year-old star, who first rose to fame on Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm alongside parents Amanda and Clive and their nine children, now fronts his own series, which follows him as he builds his Groundwork company.

In the latest instalment of season two, Reuben geared up for Christmas with the task of delivering a giant tree to the local market town ahead of the festive lights switch-on.

However, things took a dramatic turn when his vehicle became stuck in a ditch - forcing him to call his brother for backup.

Taking his three-tonne cruiser out for a spin with his 13-year-old brother Sid across their sprawling 2,000-acre farm, Reuben quickly found himself in trouble during a test drive.

Despite being warned it might not be a "good idea" to take the vehicle off-road, Reuben shrugged it off, saying: "What the hell is going to happen?"

The question was answered quickly, as the vehicle sank into a deep bog.

The narrator revealed that the same kind of terrain had been “the demise of many a poor sheep.”

"I just felt us go very low, very fast!" Reuben exclaimed as the vehicle got caught in one of the land's hidden traps.

After several failed attempts to rev the engine and spin the wheels free, he conceded: “Oh dear, that is not ideal.”

Laughing off the mishap, Reuben and his team tried to manually pull the car out, but their efforts fell short.

Admitting defeat, he placed a call to his younger brother Miles.

He said: “This year brings us to the fourth year in business and it's been great fun.

“Miles has come up a lot and hopefully his role will be even bigger next year and Sid is doing what he can. I never thought I'd end up with my mates and brothers working for me.”
