ITV presenter Ranvir Singh has returned to social media for the first time after revealing she'd been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following a ruptured appendix.
She initially mistook the illness for a stomach ache but the 47-year-old Good Morning Britain and Lorraine host was forced to pull out of presenting duties on Friday after her condition rapidly deteriorated.
Singh revealed she underwent "urgent surgery" at midnight on Thursday after what she thought was a simple stomach pain turned out to be far more serious.
The broadcaster is now recovering at home following the health scare that left her with a blood infection after Andi Peters stepped in to host Lorraine in her absence on Friday morning.

Singh detailed her ordeal on Instagram, explaining she had been hosting Lorraine last Wednesday wearing a "gorgeous linen white pinstripe suit" and felt "a bit drained and foggy" that morning.
She wrote: "I'm off air - all good - at 1030am I feel this sudden stomach ache. I stay in bed all day. Turns out I had a ruptured appendix and had urgent surgery at midnight on Thursday!"
The presenter humorously recalled waking up at 5am on Friday "high on anaesthetic and certain I could get into work to host the show as normal".
What she initially dismissed as something "a couple of coffees couldn't sort out" quickly became a serious medical emergency.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Ranvir Singh has returned to social media, sharing a post from Helen Lederer on her page
Singh described the aftermath as "pretty nasty few days", revealing that "the bacteria had spread and infected my blood".
"I'm sore and shuffling around, can't drive for a week, and no exercise for 4 weeks," she told followers. "So really it's the boredom that will kill me!"
She also asked if others had experienced "horrendous shoulder pain" following similar surgery, describing the unexpected side effect as "mad".
Now, with well wishes flooding in, Singh took to Instagram to repost a message from comedian and actress Helen Lederer via the CWIP Prize Instagram page.
In the post, Lederer can be seen holding up a piece of paper with the words: "Dear Ranvir, get well soon! Love from us!"
The reposting of the image is the first time Singh has returned to Instagram since opening up about the ordeal.
Co-star Peters took over hosting duties on Lorraine last Friday, and immediately addressed Singh's absence. "First thing's first, I've just got to say get well soon to Ranvir, who can't be here today," he told viewers.
He lightened the mood with a joke about his attire: "Which is why they've brought in a bloke in a blinding orange shirt - just to ensure you're wide awake this morning."

Peters concluded with a warm message: "Get well soon Ranvir, we're sending all our love your way."
Speaking on Monday's episode of Lorraine, Dr Hilary Jones provided medical insights about Singh's condition.
"She's put out on Instagram that she had a ruptured appendix last week and she's doing much better now but it was obviously serious," he told Peters.
Dr Hilary explained the severity of the situation: "If an appendix ruptures then it's peritonitis, that's a major sepsis condition and potentially life-threatening."
He noted appendicitis symptoms can vary dramatically between individuals, typically starting with "generalised abdominal pain which localises down to the righthand side, low down in the abdomen."
Despite the scare, Dr Hilary assured viewers Singh would make a "full recovery" and return to the show "very shortly."
