The 46-year-old singer was expected to join his bandmates during the reunion later this year.

S Club 7 legend Paul Cattermole has been found dead at his home just weeks after the band revealed plans to reunite.

The 46-year-old singer was expected to join his bandmates during the reunion later this year.


Management told the the group that there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death.

A statement released by Paul's family and the band read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

Paul was found at his home in Dorset and pronounced dead later that afternoon.

“Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

“While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.

”A post on the group's social media said: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel.

“We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”


Paul rose to fame in 1998 when S Club 7 formed, quickly climbing in the music charts.

The group had four UK number one singles, a number one album and a television series.

The group broke up in 2003, with Paul leaving one year prior.

A source told The Sun: “Everyone is in pieces. Hannah and the rest of the gang broke down when told what happened.

“No one can believe it. There is a real sense of horror and disbelief.”

Tributes for the star have poured in on social media, with "RIP Paul" trending within minutes.

GB News' Dan Wootton shared an image of him and Paul, writing: "I will never forget the joy of this day and the impending excitement of seeing you reunited again soon. Reach for the stars now, sir. Just heartbreaking."

Benjamin Butterworth wrote: "This is a tragedy. A whole generation of us loved S Club 7, and all seven of them. RIP Paul Cattermole."
