Upon hearing the news, fans took to X to share their thoughts on the romance announcement.
Reactions ranged from scepticism to outright excitement.
“I find that hard to believe,” one sceptic posted, while another wrote: “Publicity STUNT.”
“Oh snaps! She put Liam in the friendship zone. That means zero intimate chemistry,” another said.
One fan was more supportive, writing that the pair “both deserve a bit of happiness.”
“I love her life arc,” another joked.
“Some men write love letters… Liam just says ‘I will find you… and I will date you,’” a fan quipped.
“I applaud love at any age, and those two look quite happy!” another added.
The movie earned $102million (£76,682,580) at the box office and received largely positive reviews from critics.
Its success arrived during Ms Anderson’s professional reinvention following acclaim for The Last Showgirl, which earned her Golden Globe and SAG nominations.
The former Baywatch star is now focusing on new roles and creative projects.
She is working on Love Is Not the Answer, a comedy directed by Michael Cera, and has launched a production company with her sons Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, to develop a reboot of her 1996 film Barb Wire.
