The Pillowtalk singer was supposed to sing live on Jimmy Fallon's show

Zayn Malik has been compelled to withdraw from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside other promotional activities for his forthcoming album Konnakol, as the singer continues to battle undisclosed health problems.

The 33-year-old former One Direction member was originally scheduled to appear on Tuesday's episode of the American chat show but had his name removed from the guest list at short notice.

Beyond the television booking, Malik has also stepped back from fan interactions and meet-and-greet sessions connected to his new record.

The cancellations follow the artist's hospitalisation last week, when he shared an image of himself in a hospital bed wearing a gown and connected to medical equipment.

His withdrawal has left millions of viewers unable to see his planned performance.

In his Instagram story posted on Friday, Malik shared his gratitude whilst confirming his ongoing recovery. "To my fans - Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always-been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering," he wrote.

The singer expressed his disappointment at missing scheduled appearances, stating he was "heartbroken" that he could not see supporters this week.

He acknowledged the role his fanbase has played in his career, adding: "I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding."

Malik also paid tribute to those who had cared for him during his hospital stay, thanking doctors, nurses, cardiologists and administrative staff, describing them as "legends" before signing off with "big big love".

According to reports, the Pillowtalk singer is now seeking medical attention from what sources have described as "the No.1 cardiologist in the world".

An insider told People magazine that Malik "is still working through his health issues", confirming that medical professionals had advised against his television appearance.

"He was supposed to appear on Fallon but isn't able to due to doctor's recommendations," the source explained.

The precise nature of his condition remains unclear, with the singer declining to disclose full details surrounding his hospitalisation.

His mention of cardiologists among the medical staff he thanked has prompted speculation about potential heart-related concerns, though no official diagnosis has been confirmed by his representatives.

The singer's world tour in support of his fifth studio album is set to commence on 12 May at Manchester's AO Arena, with dates extending through to November in Miami.

However, his recent health setback has already affected other commitments, including a scheduled appearance at Rough Trade Below music shop in New York on Monday.

This marks the second occasion Malik has faced disruption to touring plans in recent months.

In October 2024, he temporarily postponed dates on his previous tour following the tragic death of former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, choosing to delay performances as a mark of respect.

Whether his current medical situation will impact the upcoming six-month tour remains to be seen, with fans across social media expressing hopes for his swift recovery.
