The former Saturdays singer revealed she'd "collapsed" in the early hours of the morning

BBC Radio 1 presenter Mollie King has disclosed that she was rushed to A&E following a frightening incident at her home two weeks ago.

The former Saturdays singer, 39, lost consciousness in her bathroom during the early hours after arriving back from work late.

"After coming home late from work, I suddenly collapsed unconscious on the bathroom floor at 4am, hitting my head and face as I fell," King wrote on Instagram this morning.

"It was a huge shock and I ended up being rushed to A&E."

The 39-year-old, who co-hosts the weekday afternoon show with Matt Edmondson, had been absent from the airwaves for a fortnight before breaking her silence today.

Ms King expressed profound gratitude that her fiancé, retired England cricketer Stuart Broad, was with her when the incident occurred.

"I keep thinking how grateful I am that I wasn't on my own and had Stuart to bring me round after I fell," she said.

The presenter also praised the medical team who treated her at St George's Hospital.

"A huge thank you to Amy and Hannah at St George's Hospital, who were absolutely incredible, stitching me up so well, and even managed to see past the Looney Tunes pyjama top I arrived in," Ms King added, joking that she needs to purchase new nightwear.

The broadcaster described the frightening episode as a significant moment of reflection regarding her wellbeing.

"It's been a real wake-up call that I need to make some time to get my strength back, not just for my own health, but so I can be the best version of myself for my family too," Ms King explained.

The mother of two shares daughters Annabella, born in November 2022, and Liliana, who arrived in January 2025, with Mr Broad.

Ms King revealed that Sunday marked her first social outing since the collapse, spending time with her children.

"After what has felt like a very long two weeks, it was amazing to get out and spend time with my girls," she said, adding that they spotted Mr Broad appearing on a big screen during their day out.

The presenter's colleagues rallied around her following the announcement, with co-host Mr Edmondson commenting: "We've missed you."

Former Saturdays bandmates also offered their support, with Rochelle Humes sending love and Una Healy writing: "Love you, get well soon and rest up."

Ms King confirmed she would be returning to the airwaves today, thanking fans for their concern during her absence.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has checked in on me, and for all the lovely birthday messages too. Your kindness has meant so much. I can't wait to be back on the radio with Matt today," she said.
