The daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne shared a moving post on her social media shortly after her mother announced the sad news

Television personality Kelly Osbourne has responded to the death of her cherished family pet Elvis, posting an emotional message on Instagram this week about losing the dog who supported her through profound grief.

The 39-year-old's announcement comes merely months after her father, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, passed away in July at age 76.

In her social media post, Kelly described the pomsky as her "guardian angel" who remained constantly at her side following her father's death.

The pet, who had been part of the Osbourne household for 14 years, provided crucial emotional support during what Kelly characterised as the most difficult period she has experienced.

Her tribute included multiple photographs of Elvis, showing intimate moments between the dog and family members.

Kelly penned a deeply personal message to her followers, writing: "It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that we lost Elvis this week."

She continued: "Our guardian angel has left us. Elvis did not leave my side since my dad passed.

"He helped get me through the darkest moment of my life."

The television personality struggled to find positivity in the situation, suggesting in her post: "I keep trying to find a positive in all of this and the only thing I can come up with is that maybe my dad needed him."

She concluded her tribute with gratitude for their years together: "We were so lucky to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all the love Elvis you were one of a kind."

Sharon Osbourne also paid tribute to the family pet on Sunday, posting photographs of Elvis with her late husband.

The 71-year-old wrote: "I can't believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week.

"He gave me 14 precious years. He was by my side until the end."

Her Instagram post featured images of the pomsky-breed dog with Ozzy, including one showing the Black Sabbath frontman laughing whilst another captured Elvis resting on his chest.

Supporters responded with an outpouring of sympathy on social media, with numerous fans sharing their own experiences of pet bereavement.

The Osbourne family continues to navigate their grief following Ozzy's passing in July at 76 years old, after more than four decades of marriage to Sharon.

Jack Osbourne recently provided insight into his mother's state, revealing: "She's just trying to figure out where to go from here, how to navigate, what's the new norm, what's the new baseline, 'What do I do without my person?'"

He acknowledged that whilst Sharon has substantial support from loved ones, she is struggling with the loss.

The rock icon had credited Sharon with his survival, acknowledging that without her, he would have been "six foot under without a shadow of a doubt."
