The former Spice Girl confirmed the painful news on Friday

Sir David Beckham has been hospitalised with what appears to be a broken arm, as revealed by his wife Victoria through Instagram posts on Friday morning.

The 50-year-old former England captain was photographed lying in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown with his arm in a blue sling.

Victoria, 51, shared the images with the message "Get well soon Daddy," directing the sentiment from their four children.

The former Spice Girl posted the photos to her Instagram Story, showing her husband smiling despite his apparent injury.

The couple have not yet disclosed how the injury occurred or provided details about the circumstances leading to his hospitalisation.

The photographs revealed Sir David giving a smile to the camera whilst recovering in his hospital bed. His right arm was secured in what appeared to be a substantial sling, suggesting a significant injury.

A second image showed a friendship bracelet that had been given to the Inter Miami co-owner.

The bracelet featured white beads with letters spelling out "Get Well Soon" - a gesture that appeared to be from his 13-year-old daughter Harper.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder, who was awarded a knighthood earlier this month, appeared to be in good spirits despite the painful setback.

The news of Sir David's hospitalisation emerges during a period of reported family tensions. Recent reports have suggested a growing rift between the Beckhams and their eldest son Brooklyn, 26, who lives in the United States with his actress wife Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn has been notably absent from recent family celebrations, including his father's milestone 50th birthday festivities in London and Paris.

He also did not publicly acknowledge David's knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours List earlier this month.

However, Brooklyn broke his social media silence on Thursday to wish his grandmother Sandra a happy 76th birthday, marking his first public acknowledgement of his family in months.

David and Victoria also acknowledged Sandra's birthday on Thursday, with both issuing heartfelt messages on social media to the former's mother.

In what was also an olive branch to his eldest son Brooklyn, Sir David tagged all of his children in an Instagram post dedicated to his mum.

The caption read: "Happy birthday mum we love you so much I hope u have the best day Thank you for always being there for us all Love you x," followed by his family members' Instagram handles.

Victoria took to the comments of her husband's post to echo his heartfelt tribute. She penned: "Happy birthday Sandra xx we love u xxxxxx can’t wait to celebrate you!!! Xx."

Other famous faces such as Gary Neville and Lizzie Cundy also sent their birthday wishes to Sandra via David's post.
