The presenter has been suspended from her BBC Radio Scotland show

Kaye Adams has shared she has been "unable to sleep" amid her suspension from BBC Radio Scotland following "bullying" allegations.

The 62-year-old broadcaster last presented her three-hour phone-in show on October 6 before BBC Scotland management removed her from broadcasting duties.

The BBC's investigation into Ms Adams centres on claims about her behaviour spanning several years, with current and former Radio Scotland colleagues being interviewed by corporation officials.

Sources within BBC Scotland claimed the probe was triggered by concerns about an alleged incident during a staff debriefing attended by Mr Adams and Victoria Easton Riley, the broadcaster's new Head of Radio.

The presenter has already rejected suggestions of any confrontation, stating: "I remember Ms Easton Riley standing at the back of a debrief meeting - in an open plan office - on one occasion, but there was certainly no shouting on my part. It's not my style."

The Loose Women star opened up about the incident in a recent interview, labelling it as one of the "most distressing" periods of her career.

In the latest episode of her podcast How To Be 60, she shared: "I have to warn you if you're here for the laughs, you might be disappointed because we have both had the s****iest weeks ever, albeit for very different reasons."

When asked how she was feeling, Ms Adams replied sarcastically: "Oh, I'm great!"

She continued: "I tell you what I'm finding hard is not sleeping, because I love my sleep and I'm not sleeping so well.

"I tell you something – this is gallows humour – because I'm not getting up at 6am like I used to, it's Ian's alarm that goes off first.

"I don't usually hear Ian's alarm because I am up and out and away. Do you know what Ian's alarm is? Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!".

Ms Adams had been hosting Mornings With Kaye Adams since 2010 on BBC Radio Scotland.

Despite this action by the BBC, ITV is thought to be supporting Ms Adams and ITV colleagues are believed to be “shocked” by the reports, according to the Daily Mail.

A source told the publication that “Kaye is regarded as one of the calmer members of the Loose Women cast.”

Complaints were raised against the chat show panelist under the BBC’s Call It Out scheme. The scheme was set up following misconduct scandals involving former MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Ms Adams has been absent from the airwaves since October 6, whilst the corporation conducts its inquiry.

The corporation declined to discuss specific details about individual cases.

A BBC spokesperson told GB News: "We would not comment on individuals. If any complaints or concerns are raised, we have robust internal processes in place to manage these."
