Katherine Ryan has mounted a fierce defence of David and Victoria Beckham following their eldest son's explosive social media tirade, labelling Brooklyn an "ungrateful nepo baby" on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.
The 42-year-old comedian responded to Brooklyn's Monday statement by firmly siding with the football icon and former Spice Girl.
Ms Ryan declared: "I am on David and Victoria's side. As a parent, and as someone who has been a s***ty young person, I think Brooklyn Beckham needs to grow up a little bit."
The mother of four argued that Brooklyn lacks the emotional maturity to acknowledge both the difficulties and advantages of his privileged upbringing.

Katherine Ryan shared her thoughts on the Beckham family feud
| GETTY"My parents are not abusers. My parents performatively or otherwise say nice things about me and give me opportunities," she said, articulating what she believes Brooklyn should recognise.
Ms Ryan took particular aim at Brooklyn's professional endeavours, contending that every venture has been entirely dependent on his famous surname.
She highlighted his £1million Superdry contract from 2021 and his pandemic-era cooking programme, which reportedly cost £100,000 per episode, as examples of opportunities handed to him through family connections.
"Would he have been scouted in a shopping mall like any other gorgeous young boy? No, he was one of the original nepo babies," the Canadian comedian remarked about his modelling work.

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have separated themselves from the Beckham clan
| GETTYMs Ryan noted that audiences had watched Brooklyn being carried to football matches as an infant, building the powerful name that secured his contracts.
"Then he decides he wants to do photography, and we've all seen his photography work," she added, before concluding: "I'm not seeing any of the gratitude in these posts."
Ms Ryan was equally dismissive of Brooklyn's claims about his 2022 wedding to American actress Nicola Peltz.
The 26-year-old had alleged his mother cancelled making Nicola's dress at the last minute, but Ms Ryan pointed to reports that the custom Valentino gown involved a year of conversations, two trips to Rome, and fittings in both Miami and Los Angeles.

Katherine Ryan said she is on David and Victoria's side
| PA"How's that at the 11th hour? It seems like they had a year to plan this Valentino dress," she observed.
Regarding Brooklyn's assertion that Victoria "danced on me inappropriately" during what should have been his first dance with his bride, Ms Ryan was unimpressed.
"I think it's a little thin skinned to be, like, 'I was humiliated,'" she said, suggesting Brooklyn should simply accept his mother might have her own emotions about her firstborn's wedding.
Ms Ryan also criticised Brooklyn's reported legal letter demanding his parents cease tagging him on social media and communicate solely through lawyers.
"I do empathise with Brooklyn's position that he wants realness from his family. But if that's the way you feel, then you ignore social media entirely," she stated.
The comedian argued he was seeking privacy through deliberately public means.
"You don't draft a legal letter, which you know is going to be made public and add more fuel to the fire. He's asking for privacy in an extremely public and performative way."
Ms Ryan urged Brooklyn to consider what his parents endured as young celebrities navigating intense media scrutiny while raising him.
Brooklyn Beckham has been feuding with his family since early last year | PA"Give your parents a break. They did the best they could. Show them some grace," she concluded. "You can't have your cake and eat it, too."
Ms Ryan's intervention marks a notable shift, given her previous criticism of the Beckhams.
Just two months ago, she sparked backlash on Have I Got News For You after using the C-word in reference to Victoria, and she had previously condemned David's Qatar World Cup ambassadorship in 2022.
Brooklyn's original statement alleged his parents had attempted to "ruin" his marriage since before the wedding and claimed Victoria called him "evil" over seating arrangements.
He revealed he had not spoken to his parents or siblings for 13 months, stating his brothers had blocked him on social media last summer.
The 26-year-old also accused his family of pressuring him to sign away rights to his name weeks before his wedding and claimed they prioritised "Brand Beckham" above genuine family relationships.
