The View presenter Whoopi Goldberg rushed to Princess Kate’s defence on Monday afternoon after the royal admitted to editing her family photo.
The Princess of Wales posted an official picture with her children, Prince George, Prince Charlotte, and Prince Louis, which has been taken by Prince William.
Kate underwent planned abdominal surgery in January, which meant the photo was the first time she had been seen since staying out of the public eye – but many internet sleuths quickly found several issues with the image.
There had been editing around Princess Charlotte’s clothing, Prince Louis hands, a misplaced step, blooming trees in the background and a dodgy zip on Kate’s jumper.
The oddities within the image forced picture agencies to announce they were withdrawing the photo from their services over the apparent manipulation.
Following the noise around the image, Kate quickly issued an apology over the “confusion” and explained she had simply been “experimenting with editing”.
Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.

Goldberg and her panel on The View were among the many of those sharing their thoughts, which left the Sister Act star to defend the Princess.
She exclaimed: “I’m sorry, I know very few people who don’t manipulate their own photographs. All you’ve got to do is swipe, none of those people look like they’re supposed to look. She’s doing the same thing.”
Sunni Hostin quickly hit back and claimed as the “future queen”, Kate would not be “taking selfies with her family.”
“I have to tell you, she may be the future queen, she’s still an amateur photographer. That’s what they do. I’m sure none of you have ever tampered with your own.

“It doesn’t change the fact that she said, ‘Listen, I manipulated the pictures, I’m sorry’,” before joking that everyone would be “in jail for the rest of our lives” if photo editing was a crime.
Unhappy with her answer, Goldberg spat: “Didn’t I just say that this is something everyone does? Didn’t I just say that people do this all the time?”
Alyssa Farah Griffin dived into the conversation and added: “She did step in it, though, because there are very genuine concerns over her wellbeing.
“I don’t want to speculate but when you put something out like this that doesn’t meet Reuters or Associated Press editorial standards, it feeds fuel to the fire of conspiracies. I think, even if she’s recovering, she needs to do a video.”
