Police footage showing Justin Timberlake in handcuffs during his drink-driving arrest has spread rapidly across social media, nearly two years after the incident took place in the Hamptons.
The 45-year-old pop star reportedly agreed to a settlement last week permitting partial release of the clip, which shows him being escorted to a holding cell.
In the footage, officers ask the singer what he is doing, to which he responds: "I'm on my World Tour."
When police appear confused about the nature of this tour, Mr Timberlake attempts to clarify by stating: "Um, um, it's hard to explain… I'm Justin Timberlake."

The clip quickly became the subject of widespread mockery online, with fans ridiculing his attempt to identify himself to arresting officers.
Sources close to the singer claim the release of the footage has left him feeling "utterly humiliated" and "soul crushed."
An insider revealed: "Justin knew the footage would go viral, which is why he fought so hard to have it sealed. So the fact he couldn't pull that off is soul crushing and utterly humiliating to him."
The former NSYNC star is reportedly consumed by anxiety over the lasting impact on his public image.

"He's totally consumed by what he says is the injustice of it all and is worried sick that it'll be a horrific stain on his reputation and legacy that he'll never shake off," the source added.
According to the insider, Mr Timberlake maintains he was targeted because of his celebrity status, though the source noted this claim is "laughable as the cops didn't even know who he was at first."
While Jessica Biel, 44, has stood by her husband of 13 years throughout the ordeal, sources suggest her patience is wearing thin.
"Jessica's sympathetic to a degree, but she only has so much bandwidth for his moaning and griping," an insider said.

The source described Mr Timberlake's behaviour as "self-obsessed and downright childish," claiming he burdens those around him with his frustrations and anxieties.
"Justin is going on about how he's been hung out to dry and humiliated, saying it's outrageous and worrying nonstop about what this means for his fan base, but from Jessica's point of view that just sounds like more self-pity, and she has zero patience for it," the insider explained.
The actress reportedly refuses to spend her time constantly reassuring him about the fallout.
This is not the first time the couple's relationship has faced public scrutiny, as seven years ago, Mr Timberlake was photographed holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright during an evening out in 2019, prompting him to issue a public apology on Instagram.

Sources have claimed the actress is growing tired of constantly reasurring her husband
|"I should have known better," he wrote at the time. "This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation."
Questions about whether the pair were living separate lives resurfaced last year during his troubled Forget Tomorrow World Tour, where the singer was forced to cancel US concerts twice due to illness, later revealing a Lyme Disease diagnosis.
Rather than spending breaks with his family, Mr Timberlake was spotted in Las Vegas with Travis Kelce.
Despite the mounting pressure, sources insist Ms Biel remains committed to her marriage and dreads the prospect of separating their family.

|"Jessica does still love him, she hates the thought of breaking up their family and the logistics of a divorce would be traumatising," the insider explained.
However, the source warned that Mr Timberlake must demonstrate genuine remorse if the relationship is to survive.
"The only way Justin can salvage this is by working on himself, taking responsibility and being mindful that other people - especially Jessica - have their own problems to deal with besides his," they said.
The insider added that Ms Biel is among the few people who speak honestly to him, but cautioned: "If he doesn't start meeting her halfway and showing some real accountability, there's a growing feeling this could push things to a place they may not be able to come back from."
