Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he and his girlfriend Lisa Hogan have had to say goodbye to one of their beloved companions at Diddly Squat.
In his latest column, Clarkson opened up on the "upset" caused when he discovered Hogan's 26-year-old horse Bertie had died ahead of Christmas.
Bertie, along with a whole host of other farm animals, resided at Diddly Squat in Chipping Norton where Clarkson films his hit Amazon Prime Video series.
Opening up about Bertie's death given he isn't the biggest fan of horses, Clarkson admitted it still left him deflated.
"It wasn’t a fun event, even for me, and I didn’t like it one bit," Clarkson said of the horse.
Clarkson recalled how Bertie would often "tiptoe" behind him to give him an almighty fright while he was trying to keep things afloat on the farm.

The former Top Gear star admitted he also wasn't fond of horses due to how easily they're spooked, the fact they can kick, and how hard they are to ride.
But seeing the effect Bertie's death had on his other half left both of the Clarkson's Farm stars filled with sadness ahead of Christmas Day.
Clarkson caveated in his The Times column: "Anyway, all that being said, when Lisa’s horse died I was upset because I could see she was. And because I would have to deal with it."
Dealing with death on the farm isn't a rarity for Clarkson since he made the switch to a full-time farmer back in 2019.
In both seasons of Clarkson's Farm so far, fans have witnessed firsthand how the realities of farming have taken their toll on the motoring enthusiast.
In season one, Clarkson even verged on tears after taking a couple of his lame sheep to the abattoir for slaughter.
And the second season saw him transport his cows to meet the same fate - all the while being greeted by a rather matter-of-fact abattoir boss.
Hogan took to Instagram on Thursday morning to pay tribute to Bertie with an emotional post.

AMAZONAlongside a collage of photos of Bertie in the fields and cuddling up to her family, Hogan penned: "Farewell my biggest friend.
"Thank you for 26 years of never chucking me off & for being such a beauty," she added followed by a broken heart emoji.
Fans will be able to see more of Diddly Squat when the already-filmed season three drops on Amazon Prime Video next year.
And there's a bright future ahead for the farming show as Amazon has already greenlit a fourth run of the record-breaking hit.
