Jeremy Clarkson has hit back at a common piece of medical advice after sharing a concerning health update.
The 63-year-old admitted his “body doesn’t work like it used to” and has struggled to keep up with his son.
Hitting back at some common medical advice given to him, Clarkson confessed he struggles to walk long distances saying he cannot fathom how he - let alone anyone - can fit in 10,000 steps a day.
“When I hear that a man of my age should do 10,000 steps a day, I think: ‘Right, how on earth would I find the time to do that?’
“When I [walk with my son], he pootles along at what people call walking pace and to keep up I have to unleash my inner [Roger] Bannister.”
He admitted that walking with his son Finlo, 26, left him “coughing up my spleen and trying to get my breath back”.
Clarkson then quipped that his chances of developing type two diabetes could be considerably slashed should he increase his walking speed by just 0.1mph.

Fans have expressed concern for The Grand Tour host after he revealed he would be stepping down from the show along with Richard Hammond and James May.
Despite the car series coming to an end, Clarkson abated fears his other projects would be axed as Clarkson’s Farm has been renewed for a fourth season by Amazon.
Clarkson’s recent comments are not the first time the ex-BBC host has taken a stance on medical advice as he said he has become disillusioned by the constant changes to advice being given out by the health industry.
Amazon Prime Video confirmed last month that Clarkson’s hilarious escapades on Diddly Squat Farm would continue as another series was already in the works

“One minute, tomatoes give you cancer, the next they protect your brain…,” he wrote for the Sunday Times.
“Then there’s red meat. On Tuesday it’s carcinogenic, the next morning it’s a vital source of iron.”
“I was told after my most recent medical that hearing loss will double the chance of me catching dementia.
“Maybe it’s already happening.”
