James Haskell's ex-wife Chloe Madeley has opened up about their "blowout" arguments they have been having due to co-parenting their daughter Bodhi, two, claiming times have been "really hard" recently.
The couple have never specifically revealed their reason for splitting, but Madeley, 37, told OK! Magazine back in May: "I'm never going to go into great detail about why we broke up because it's not fair on anyone and I wouldn't want him to either, but what I will say is it was f***ing awful.
"Part of the reason we wanted to end it was because we wanted it to stop being awful, so why would we then take that into a break-up and it continue being awful? It was hard at the beginning. You have to work at it like everything in life and we've really done that."
During an appearance on Loose Women, she said: "A lot happens behind closed doors that wasn't on the show but it's amazing how many people picked up on it. We thought we had done a good job but obviously not."
The couple were devoted to making sure they stayed friends for the benefit of their daughter, but in her latest interview, Madeley admitted she is finding it hard.
"We have found a way to do it, but it’s not always great. We have really hard times with it sometimes. We also still argue, there’s no denying that and it’ll probably be this way forever," she told Closer.

"But James and I, whatever our disagreements, are adamant that we won’t weaponise Bodhi or use her as a bargaining tool. When James and I have had a bad day, for whatever reason, we put it behind us through gritted teeth if necessary.
"We maybe have a little blowout, but always far away from Bodhi and then we crack on.
"Because, ultimately, we come full circle back to co-parenting harmoniously. That’s the most important thing. Bodhi apart, I’m not interested in things being toxic between me and James.
"I have never wanted to prolong that for any length of time. We went through that, and it’s mostly done. Like I say, we do still have tricky episodes but there are many days when we are very, very good friends."

Earlier this year the 37-year-old revealed how she fell into a form of situational depression following the separation and told OK!: "I’ve actually never had depression before and obviously it was very circumstantial.
"So I didn’t realise when people say, 'I can’t' do something, you really just can’t. Friends would say, 'Come over and have dinner,' but I couldn't. I couldn’t even reply to emails.
"I really went through the wringer. Other than taking care of Bodhi, I wasn’t really doing any real self-care. But when I started coming to terms with the decision, because I knew I was never going to change my mind, I eventually started to get excited about what my life would look like."
Despite going through a hard time, Madeley credited her famous parents, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, for helping her out of the "black hole".
