Jacob Rees-Mogg has shed more light on what we can expect from his upcoming reality TV show.

The former Tory MP was joined by a filming crew for his GB News show, State of the Nation, tonight on The People’s Channel.

Speaking to Nigel Farage about his new venture, he admitted to the Reform UK chief he has taken a “risk” in agreeing to participate.

“I am going to be doing something with Discovery Plus, they are following me around”, he said.

“They’re here in the studio at the moment and they are beginning to see what life with Jacob Rees-Mogg is like.

“They have come to see me at home and Mary, my daughter, is absolutely loving it.”

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Asked how long he will be followed by the Discovery crew, he said: “I’m not entirely sure.

“We were thinking there would be an election in November and then it all came earlier.

“I think they’re trying to get it all done a bit quickly.”

Asked about the potential “downsides” to starring in a reality TV show, Jacob admitted there is “risk with everything”.

“I talked to you about going in the [I'm a Celebrity] Jungle, I thought there were more downsides than upsides”, he said.

“You were right. It was very good for you and it was hugely helpful in getting you to appeal to an audience who hadn’t seen you before.

“I’m afraid in politics, you have to put yourself out and about.”

Jacob went on to admit that not all of his children feel the same way about the reality series, and feels it has been received to differing degrees.

The GB News star was visited by the filming crew at his 17th-century country home where he lives with his wife and their six children.

The moment Rishi Sunak called the 4 July election is said to feature in the fly-on-the-wall documentary as it captures Jacob’s reaction.

The show is expected to follow a similar format to the series following heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury for ITV.
