The former Pussycat Doll admitted the atmosphere became 'uncomfortable'

Ashley Roberts has revealed she confronted David Haye over his behaviour during their time on I'm A Celebrity… South Africa, describing some of his remarks as “shocking”.

The former Pussycat Dolls star made the admission during an appearance on This Morning, where she discussed tensions between the 45-year-old boxer and fellow campmate Adam Thomas.

She said: “There are points where I did confront him because I thought some of his language was quite shocking."

Ms Roberts added the atmosphere in camp became “uncomfortable” at times, particularly due to Mr Haye’s interactions with Mr Thomas, who was suffering from arthritis during filming.

Ms Roberts added watching the footage back showed Mr Haye “just kept going and digging a deeper hole”.

The Waterloo Road actor had been struggling with psoriatic arthritis throughout the series, leaving him in frequent pain.

The former Pussycat Doll said Mr Haye’s persistent criticism crossed a line.

“Adam was not feeling well in there, he was feeling quite ill and David Haye just kept pushing and pushing,” she said.

“At first, you think it’s lads’ banter, but then it just went a bit too far."

During Friday’s episode, viewers saw Mr Haye brand Mr Thomas “useless” after he opted out of a Bushtucker Trial due to dehydration and feeling unwell.

Despite Beverley Callard urging him to show sympathy, the former boxer responded dismissively, questioning why anyone should care if the actor was feeling poorly.

Mr Thomas later opened up about his experience in a candid Instagram post, revealing Mr Haye had “broke me in there” and “pushed me to my limits”.

The 37-year-old said he struggled “physically, mentally and emotionally” during his time on the ITV show, with his condition taking a significant toll.

“There were moments I felt pushed to my absolute limit, and if I’m honest, times I didn’t even recognise myself,” he wrote.

His brothers Ryan and Scott publicly rallied around him, with Scott admitting the situation made his “blood boil”.

Scott said it was difficult watching his brother’s “pure heart be tested like that”, while Ryan joked he would have stepped in but acknowledged Haye was “not the guy to pick a fight with”.

Mr Thomas has since confirmed Mr Haye reached out to apologise following their time in camp, and the pair have now moved on.

“He’s apologised, and that’s that! I’ve moved on now. I’m not one to hold a grudge,” he added.

Ms Roberts also revealed the tension became so intense that some of the female contestants temporarily removed themselves from the situation.

“Some of us girls actually went outside of camp and just took a moment to breathe together,” she said.

The singer described the All Stars series as even more challenging than her original 2012 appearance, where she finished as runner-up.

“It was tough. I keep saying that, but it’s true. It was so tough in there,” Ms Roberts added.
