Former Coronation Street actress Kate Spencer has shared an adorable social media post announcing the arrival of her first child with husband Paul Walker.

Ms Spencer, who portrayed the villainous Grace Vickers on the ITV soap, shared the joyful news with her Instagram followers on Tuesday evening.


The new mother posted a touching black-and-white photograph focusing on her newborn's tiny feet.

In her caption, she wrote: "Baby Zach burst into the world last week and safe to say, we are utterly besotted."

She continued: "Life will never be the same again, and for that, we are eternally grateful."

Fans flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages, with many expressing their delight at the safe arrival of the little one.

Ms Spencer appeared on Coronation Street between 2019 and 2022, where she made television history as part of the first black family to feature on the long-running cobbles drama.

Her portrayal of Grace Vickers earned her recognition within the industry, receiving a Best Newcomer nomination at the I Talk Telly Awards.

Before landing her breakthrough role on the Manchester-based soap, the actress honed her craft at Rose Bruford College in London and Columbia College in Chicago.

During her three-year stint on the programme, Ms Spencer's character became one of the show's memorable villains, captivating audiences with her performances.

The actress has maintained a strong connection with fans through social media since departing the iconic ITV series.

Ms Spencer and Mr Walker's love story began when they connected online, with the actress later joking that she was "super thankful" he swiped right.

The professional boxer proposed during a romantic dinner at a steakhouse in June 2021, getting down on one knee between the main course and dessert.

Recalling the moment, Ms Spencer told her followers: "After the Tomahawk steak, before the Tiramisu, and with a coffee in hand, he turned me into an absolute blubbering mess. A million times over, completely and utterly yes."

The couple exchanged vows in June 2022, celebrating with a ceremony at the church Spencer had attended since childhood, just a short walk from her family home.

The couple first revealed they were expecting in October, when Ms Spencer was already 19 weeks along.

Sharing a photograph of Mr Walker kissing her on the cheek while she held up their ultrasound image, the actress expressed her excitement about expanding their family.

She wrote at the time: "19 weeks of loving you, forever to go! Hugely grateful, blessed and unbelievably excited to be welcoming the next generation of the Walkers into our family in March 2026."

In the final days before giving birth, Ms Spencer attempted various methods to encourage labour, including eating curries and taking lengthy walks.
