The TV personality shared the heartbreaking snap on Thursday

Freddie Brazier has taken to Instagram to share a loving yet heartbreaking tribute to his late mum, Jade Goody.

The 21-year-old, known for appearing on Celebrity Race Across the World, is the son of television presenter Jeff Brazier and the Big Brother star who tragically died from cervical cancer in 2009.

Ms Goody became a household name after entering Big Brother in 2002.

Initially a controversial figure, she later gained enormous public sympathy as she openly battled cervical cancer, raising widespread awareness of the disease and the importance of screening.

She tragically died on March 22, 2009, at the age of 27.

Freddie’s parents met shortly after Ms Goody’s Big Brother fame. Jeff, who had appeared on Channel 4’s Shipwrecked in 2001, was living with her personal trainer, Kevin Adams, when the pair began dating in 2002.

They went on to have two sons together: Bobby Jack, born in June 2003, and Freddy, born in September 2004.

Their relationship was turbulent at times. Jeff has spoken about the pressures of intense media intrusion, including phone hacking, which he says damaged trust between them.

Goody herself admitted in her autobiography that a “huge row… that got out of control” contributed to the couple’s split.

Despite separating, they continued to co-parent, sharing custody of their young sons until Goody’s death.

Freddy marked his tribute by posting a childhood photo of himself on his Instagram story, with the caption: “Wish I could go back to this age and have my Mum back in a finger click.”

The emotional message comes months after viewers saw the model break down in tears during a moving episode of Celebrity Race Across the World, where he revealed he struggles to talk about grief.

He said he prefers to “bottle up” his emotions instead of discussing his mum with Jeff.

After Ms Goody’s death, Jeff became the sole carer for both boys.

He later married Kate Dwyer in a cliff-top ceremony in Portugal on September 15, 2018.

Freddy, who was only four at the time of his mother's death, has since faced several challenges that have played out publicly due to his family’s fame.

He has been open about his long-standing cannabis addiction, saying he began using the drug at age 12.

The addiction led to public concern, an intervention from his father and eventual rehab.

His drug use also became central to a highly publicised legal dispute between Jeff and Ms Goody’s mother, Jackiey Budden.

Jeff sought to block Freddy from seeing her, arguing she was a “bad influence” who encouraged his cannabis use.

The disagreement caused a period of estrangement between father and son, though they later reconciled.

Freddy has spoken candidly about his mental health struggles, describing manic episodes, a suicide attempt in which he tried to take his life by crashing a car, and being sectioned around his 18th birthday. He has also been diagnosed with ADHD.
