Elvis Presley's late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, allegedly took out a $3.8m loan in 2018, using Graceland as collateral

Elvis Presley's former home and burial site is scheduled to be sold off at a foreclosure auction this week, but his granddaughter Riley Keogh is attempting to stop the sale with a lawsuit which claims the sale is "fraudulent".

According to a legal notice published this month, Graceland and the surrounding land on Elvis Presley Boulevard will be auctioned off for cash to the highest bidder at Shelby County Courthouse on May 23, as per WREG-TV News.

However, a temporary restraining order on the sale was issued on Monday, coming from Keough's attorney, with an injunction hearing alongside it.

According to the notice, the 34-year-old's mother - Lisa Marie Presley who died on January 12, 2023 - reportedly signed a Deed of Trust in 2018 in order to secure a $3.8million (£2.99million) loan - with Graceland being the collateral.

Naussay Investments and Private Lending are said to be the company wanting to sell Graceland and have claimed that Presley's only child did not pay back the money prior to her death at 54.

Keough's lawsuit however claims that her mother did not borrow money from the company, with the suit stating: "These documents are fraudulent."

She alleges that her mother's signatures on the deeds have been forged and adds that Naussany Investments isn't a real company.

Graceland currently stands as one of America's most famous musical landmarks and was added to the American National Register of Historic Places back in 1991.

Keough's settlement was approved by a judge 10 months after her mother died and was then named the sole trustee of the family estate, soon after a previous legal battle with her grandmother Pricilla Presley.

It came after an amendment to Lisa Marie's will excised Pricilla as the trustee of the estate, with her lawyers claiming she only knew about the move after her daughter's death.

Winning the suit, Presley's wife and business manager Barry Siegel was replaced with his daughter and her brother Benjamin Keough.

When the King of Rock and Roll first bought Graceland in 1957, he paid $102,500 for the Tennesse home which included 13.8 acres of property and was soon turned into a museum for the singing legend.

It is known as a folksy look into Presley's former life and includes a "Jungle Room" filled with greenery and family heirlooms, which was initially used as a practical joke.

The Burning Love singer's daughter died of a bowel obstruction, which was a result of adhesions caused by weight-loss surgery she underwent several years ago.

At the time of Presley's death, local officials said first responders had been dispatched to her home in Calabasas, where they found her in cardiac arrest.

Her last public appearance was two days before her death, at the Golden Globes.
