Eamonn Holmes has shared nostalgic memories of his first vehicle during a GB News broadcast, revealing he owned a Fiat 124 which he jokingly called "the fate worse than death."
The presenter reminisced about the car while chatting with co-host Anne Diamond, proudly recalling how he had customised it with "go-faster stripes."
Eamonn Holmes told GB News viewers: "My first car was a Fiat 124, the Fiat worse than death."
Anne Diamond asked: "Was it like a sieve and looked like a Lada?"

Eamonn responded: "It was the version. It was the light European version of the Lada. The Russians then bought the model and made a heavier version of it. I got go faster stripes on it."
Anne said: "Oh, boys always used to do that, didn't they? They'd take on an old jalopy that goes at two miles an hour, but put go faster stripes on it. That was that. My first car was my mum's Morris 1000, which was a good, solid, reliable little car, which I thought was really boring, so I sold it."
Eamonn said: "That would be worth a few quid now."
Anne explained: "Oh well, yeah, but unfortunately I sold it to buy an MG Midget, which burned more oil."

"It was higher at the back end than the front. I was about 18 then. Honestly, every bit of it was rusted. I actually had to drill holes in the floor just to let the water pour out."

Anne said: "Do you remember? It was always the floor that went in old cars. Was it rust that got to the floor?"
Eamonn said: "You'd be very careful your feet didn't go through the floor. But I enjoyed that car. I enjoyed that car. It was very good, lovely fun. £550."
Holmes's taste in vehicles has evolved considerably since his teenage years, with the presenter now known for his collection of prestigious motors.
His former wife Ruth once revealed on Channel 5's How The Other Half Lives: "If we ever won the lottery, I would dread what he would come home with - Eamonn would love a Bentley."

Six years later, Holmes acquired his "dream car" - a convertible Continental from Derby-based Baytree Cars.
"I usually change my car every two years and as you get older you wonder how many chances you have left to drive the sort of vehicle you've always dreamed of," Holmes explained at the time.
The presenter's collection has previously included a classic Jaguar, marking a significant upgrade from his rust-riddled first car.
