The 13th series of Death in Paradise kicked off with a bang - quite literally - on Sunday evening as Ralf Little's DI Neville Parker had an all-new mystery to solve.
This time around, however, it was a case that sent shockwaves through the Saint Marie police department as it left long-serving Commissioner Selwyn Patterson's (played by Don Warrington) life hanging in the balance.
While at a special lunch dedicated to the Commissioner to mark five decades of police service, Selwyn was on the receiving end of a bullet.
What followed was an hour of red herrings, bizarre clues and, of course, sun-soaked scenery as Neville tried to discover who pulled the trigger on the beloved Commissioner.
Luckily, Selwyn survived - even though actor Warrington had cryptically hinted at a possible exit - and the season 13 premiere teed up another tantalising run of murder mysteries in the sun.
However, after kicking off on Sunday evening, several members of the BBC drama's fandom all had a similar complaint.

For the past few seasons, Death in Paradise had taken residence in the BBC's coveted Friday night slot.
But the shift to Sunday's led to several viewers slamming the "weird" decision.
On X, formerly Twitter, one fan fumed: "#DeathInParadise is perfect TV for January and February to lift the winter blues. But it should be shown during the week not Sunday night, for similar reasons. Yeah, I know. IPlayer."
A second queried: "What's more shocking the commissioner being shot or that #deathinparadise is on a Sunday night?"
Meanwhile, a third was in disbelief: "What going on?! #DeathInParadise on Sunday?! Have I accidentally bimbled into a parallel universe?!"

"Death in Paradise is my guilty pleasure but now it’s on a Sunday night so I have to stay up to watch it! #deathinparadise #guiltypleasure," another complaints while a fifth simply put: "#deathinparadise on a sunday... this feels weird."
And another mused: "With ambulance rating badly midweek and Friday night low on bbc1 why for first time ever move #DeathInParadise to Sunday nights??? Should be keep as Weeknights show as Weeknights more lacking than weekends!"
However, there was some members of the fandom who lauded the scheduling shake-up, including one fan who argued: "I'm so glad that this amazing show is back.
"The perfect Sunday night drama. I much prefer it being aired on a Sunday rather than a Friday #DeathInParadise."

And a second agreed: "Didn’t think I would like it being on our screens on a Sunday rather than midweek, but hearing that music, I realised it’s a great way to end the weekend. #deathinparadise." (sic)
The second episode will air in the same time slot next weekend and to tease what's in store, the Beeb has released a synopsis for the instalment.
According to Radio Times: "Commissioner Selwyn Patterson struggles in the wake of his shock shooting, and the local community is rocked by a murder at a care home when a game of bingo gets horribly out of hand. But could someone really kill over something so trivial?
"As the case takes on a series of jaw-dropping twists and turns, Neville and the team realise that this case is so much more than it first appeared on the surface," it adds.
