The youngest son has waded into the escalating family drama

Cruz Beckham has waded into the escalating family drama by liking a viral meme that pokes fun at his brother Brooklyn's claims about their mother Victoria's behaviour at his 2022 wedding.

The 20-year-old musician gave his approval to a comedic clip on Tuesday that imagined Posh requesting Ginuwine's suggestive 1996 track Pony for a mother-son dance with her oldest son.

In the satirical video, a mock DJ announces: "And now for the song requested by the mother of the groom for her first dance with her son," before the R&B hit begins playing.

The song gained renewed notoriety following Channing Tatum's striptease performance in Magic Mike and has since become the soundtrack to countless social media jokes about the alleged incident.

The comedian behind the clip appeared to confirm Cruz's engagement, writing in a subsequent post: "Made a skit about the Beckhams. Looks like they're enjoying it."

Brooklyn's accusations emerged on Monday evening when the 26-year-old broke his silence on the rift with his famous parents in a lengthy Instagram statement.

He alleged Victoria had "hijacked" what was meant to be a romantic first dance with his wife Nicola Peltz at their lavish Palm Beach ceremony.

"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead," Brooklyn wrote.

"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."

The aspiring chef claimed the incident at the £3.5million Florida wedding contributed to his and Nicola's decision to renew their vows in August 2025 without any Beckham family members present.

Despite appearing to find humour in the mocking meme, Cruz seemed to signal support for his mother shortly afterwards through a carefully chosen musical backdrop.

The youngest Beckham son posted a photograph of his meal to Instagram accompanied by the 1997 Spice Girls track Who Do You Think You Are?, a nod to Victoria's pop career that many interpreted as a show of solidarity.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

The post also served to celebrate his professional success, with Cruz expressing gratitude to fans for selling out his upcoming UK performances.

"Absolutely no words, thank you a million. Looks like I'll have to be adding more shows?!?" he wrote alongside the image.

The dual nature of Cruz's social media activity on Tuesday left observers uncertain about where his loyalties truly lie amid the intensifying family dispute.

Accounts of what actually occurred that evening remain contested, with different sources offering contradictory versions of events.

Vogue, which provided extensive coverage of the April 2022 nuptials, reported that Brooklyn and Nicola had their official first dance earlier in the evening to Lloyiso's cover of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love.

The magazine stated that Marc Anthony took to the stage around 11pm to perform I Need To Know, at which point Brooklyn "invited his mother on stage for a dance", with David and their daughter Harper, then aged 10, joining them.

This account directly contradicts Brooklyn's version of events.

However, wedding guest Stavros Agapiou, partner of DJ Fat Tony who performed at the reception, appeared to corroborate Brooklyn's claims in a since-deleted Instagram comment.

"I was there and she did. He's telling the truth," Agapiou wrote, before removing the comment and replacing it with: "Good on him for finally speaking out!"

This week's social media activity is not the first time Cruz has publicly addressed the family turmoil.

In December, he defended his parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51, after reports emerged suggesting they had unfollowed Brooklyn on social media.

Sharing a screenshot of an article making the allegations, Cruz wrote: "Not true."

He added: "My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked as did I."

Brooklyn has maintained that family members blocked him last summer.

Sources close to the family have indicated that Victoria is devastated by the public breakdown in her relationship with her eldest child.

A source told The Mirror: "Victoria is on the floor, shocked to pieces that her son would do this. Everyone is in shock. But Victoria is totally in pieces over this."

The former Spice Girl has not publicly responded to Brooklyn's allegations.
