The Loose Women star responded after her son's ex-partner made serious allegations against her

Coleen Nolan has strongly denied accusations made by her son’s former partner Emma Kivell, who labelled the television presenter a “cruel bully.”

A representative for the Loose Women panellist told the Mirror: “Our client strongly disputes the allegations, which are inaccurate and misleading.”

The spokesperson added: “They are presented without the necessary context and arise from a contested private family matter.

"It is inappropriate to report on such matters, particularly where doing so risks involving a child.”

The response comes after Ms Kivell made a series of claims about her treatment by the Nolan family in an interview with The Sun.

She alleged that Ms Nolan subjected her to verbal abuse, telling the publication: “She'd call me every name under the sun, like ‘you jealous b***h’, and she was vile.”

Ms Kivell also claimed Ms Nolan stopped seeing her granddaughter, Amelia-Rose, for a period, alleging this followed a refusal to visit her home.

“Coleen wanted me to know that she's in charge, she's got the power, and I'm nothing, that's how I felt,” she said.

She further claimed the situation contributed to her suffering a breakdown.

Ms Kivell and Shane Nolan first met in 2015 through mutual friends while working as Bluecoats at a holiday resort.

Their daughter, Amelia-Rose, was born the following year, with Ms Nolan present at the birth.

Although they were never in a formal relationship, Mr Nolan is said to have supported Ms Kivell as a single parent.

While she initially described his family as welcoming, she claims this later changed.

The dispute has now spanned nearly seven years, with previous reports suggesting there has been no contact between the child and the Nolan family during that time.

In September, Mr Nolan addressed the situation on social media, insisting he had consistently paid child maintenance and increased his contributions after a period of financial difficulty during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I would never not pay. We miss her and can't wait for one day for her to be in our lives,” he wrote.

Ms Kivell responded by disputing his claims, alleging he had made no meaningful effort to be involved in their daughter’s life.

She claimed financial support resumed only following court action and said he had not checked on his daughter’s well-being, even during the pandemic.

She also alleged breaches of court orders led to restricted access, adding: “She doesn't need your pettiness, or the toxicity from your side of the family.”
