Jeremy Vine fans have been left furious with one panelist's take on Donald Trump following his latest speech to the United Nations in New York.
On Wednesday, Channel 5 host Mr Vine welcomed journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and former Conservative politician Brian Coleman onto his show to debate the talking points from the president's one-of-a-kind monologue.
Over the course of almost an hour, President Trump left no stone unturned, unleashing blistering attacks on Europe, the UN itself, and London mayor Sadiq Khan.
When attacking Mr Khan, who has since branded the president a "racist" and "Islamophobic", Mr Trump claimed Sharia law was imminent in the capital.

There was also time for him to endorse himself for the Nobel Peace Prize, decry climate change, and issue a warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Sharing their thoughts on the president, Ms Alibhai-Brown was first up and admitted: "I'm now doubly appalled, at the moment. We’re now reaching this phase where he’s, he’s being normalised."
"Is he off his trolley?" Mr Vine cut in to ask, prompting Ms Alibhai-Brown to reply: "Is he off his trolley? I don’t know, I’m not a psychiatrist, but I certainly think, I think all of us should be really scared, because he’s a maverick, he says what he thinks, and he does what he thinks."
Mr Coleman interjected to put up a defence for the president: "Why should we be afraid of politicians who say what they think?"

Ms Alibhai-Brown quickly fired back: "Because you can’t just say and do what you think in a civilised country. How different is he from [Robert] Mugabe then?"
The comparisons to Zimbabwe's former dictator shocked Mr Coleman, who intervened: "Well, Mugabe was killing people, and clearing the land, and…"
"Oh, taking farms from white people, that’s right," Ms Alibhai-Brown flippantly interrupted, to which Mr Coleman explained: "No, no, he was clearing people not of his tribe, actually."
But Ms Alibhai-Brown was undeterred: "And that is, Brian, that is exactly what Donald Trump is doing. He is a white supremacist."

Unhappy with Ms Alibhai-Brown's rhetoric, Mr Coleman argued: "No, he is not. He is not a white supremacist. He comes from the most cosmopolitan city in the world, New York. He is not a racist.
"And the more you paint him as one, the more you will be less able to criticise him, because you paint him as a racist, you just write him off."
Mr Vine attempted to mediate: "Can we agree he’s got very bad manners, Brian? Because he insults the UN for their escalator and their autocue. Both of them were caused by his own team."
Again, Mr Coleman argued President Trump's case. "America pays 25 percent of the budget of the UN. I think they have a right… I think they have a right to insult it. I think if you pay 25 percent of the budget, you have a right to have a view on the UN," he stated.

Mr Vine then moved on to other comments made by President Trump during his speech. "He made some controversial statements at the UN yesterday, including that they want to go to Sharia law in London. Now, what do you make of that, Yasmin?" Mr Vine asked.
Ms Alibhai-Brown replied: "Well, you know, he hates Sadiq Khan. And he’s hated Sadiq Khan because when he last came to this country, not this visit, the balloons that went up... And he’s got such thin skin. He says all kinds of awful things about others, but he can’t bear to be laughed at."
"But Sharia law in London, Brian, can we deal with that?" Mr Vine quizzed, to which Mr Coleman conceded: "I think he’s misinformed. There was a lot of talk in parts of London, you go to some parts of the East End of London, and they’re completely dominated by the Muslim community. (In) Tower Hamlets, every lamppost has got a Palestinian flag on it."
Ms Alibhai-Brown angrily cut in: "Palestine isn’t a Muslim cause. Palestine is a human cause. No, no, no. Don’t misrepresent it. Do not misrepresent it!"

Mr Vine again tried to play mediator: "But where’s the Sharia law coming from, Brian? Are you saying that there are parts of London—"
Mr Coleman made his stance clear: "Yeah. No, we’re not introducing Sharia law in London, and nobody is seriously suggesting it. I’m sure there are sections of the Muslim community that would like to see it. But, I mean, Sharia law, does that include cutting the hands off thieves? Hanging murderers?"
"What, are you saying that we’d approve of that?" Ms Alibhai-Brown questioned, to which Mr Coleman said: "I think some people in this country would approve of it."

An angry Ms Alibhai-Brown fired back: "No, no, no. Prove it. Bring me some evidence before you spout, please. Who says we want it here? We’re Muslim. I have never heard anybody say we want to cut off their hands."
Mr Coleman brought the debate to a close before things got too heated. "Oh, I suspect you should go to a different mosque," he remarked.
The tone of the debate and the remarks by Ms Alibhai-Brown quickly sparked fury on social media, with several X users venting their frustration at some of the comments.
One X user fumed: "Funny how the word racist is bandied about so easily. She called Trump a racist without any facts or examples to back it up. Brian, thank goodness you were on the show for sanity's sake!!"

The complaints kept coming from a third who hit out: "Yasmin is the most awful woman, her way or no way. As for calling Mr Trump a racist (untrue), when did she last look in the mirror? Thought she was leaving anyway!"
A fourth echoed: "Yasmin... from one side of her face she said 'broadcasters should watch what they say' because there is enough hate... then from the other side of her face criticized the fact that Kimmel was taken off air because of what he said & it's an infringement on 'free speech'."
And a fifth sided with Mr Coleman: "If only we had somebody running the UK who cares as much about their country & its people as him, rather than what others (like his mates in Europe) think."
"What an idiotic thing to say," a sixth weighed in.
Despite the majority of the reaction being angled against the anti-Trump remarks, some did jump to Ms Alibhai-Brown's defence.
"She’s totally right," one X user replied in response to a clip of the debate, while a second echoed: "#JeremyVine Yasmin Alibhai-Brown is spot on." (sic)
