A new series of The Traitors began on New Year's Day, with the second instalment having aired tonight - and fans already think they've sussed the identity of "the Secret Traitor," a new feature of the show.
Presenter Claudia Winkleman revealed the new twist in yesterday's opening episode of the series, explaining that while three initial Traitors would be participating as usual, one extra player would also be influencing the murder vote - with the audience also in the dark about their identity.
The Traitors meet in secret as always to decide who to "murder," but in this series they're given three names to choose from by the unknown villain.
Traitors Rachel, Hugo and Stephen have been receiving handwritten lists of those they think should be eliminated, reluctantly choosing from the limited options.

Some fans have cleverly noted the writing in the letter and linked it with that used by the players during the Round Table, and one name keeps coming up from this method.
One penned on X: "So, based on handwriting, the Secret Traitor… Sam? #TheTraitors."
"The Secret Traitor is Sam. Bookmark this #TheTraitors," a second echoed.
Responding to the spin-off show, Uncloaked, another added: "Shocked at Judy naming Roxy as a possible Traitor. But bang on with Stephen - and if my Secret Traitor theory is right, Sam…"

A third shared: "I think either Sam or Fiona is the secret traitor #TheTraitors."
"Sam is still giving Secret Traitor vibes. #TheTraitors," someone else agreed.
One more pleaded: "For the love of God, get rid of Sam #TheTraitors."
However, some disagreed with the theory, with one fan sharing: "The handwriting doesn’t scream Sam though…" (sic)

Sam was also very vocal during the Roundtable as he attempted to sway his co-stars into banishing Judy.
Ultimately, his persuasion worked and many of the players fell into the show's pattern of herd mentality, and Judy was banished by the group.
She ultimately revealed she had been a Faithful, and suspicion was immediately thrown further on Sam.
The BBC revealed the new twist came about following fan suggestions regarding the popular show.

Mike Cotton, creative director of production company Studio Lambert, commented: "In series one, people said, 'Wouldn't it be interesting if the viewers didn't know who the traitors are?'"
"And we don't agree with that, actually. I think we think that knowing who the traitors are, knowing their duplicity, is what makes it feel great.
"But we thought it would be interesting if you didn't know who one of them was.
"I think it could change the conversation slightly for this season."
