The songs and dances for Week Seven of Strictly have been announced

Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced they know who's set to leave the competition this coming weekend after the BBC show unveiled the songs and routines for Week Seven.

Zara McDermott was the latest star to exit the competition in Week Six, but the remaining nine celebrities have no time to wallow as each will take on an all-new dance on Saturday night.

Among the Week Seven routines, Annabel Croft will take on a Couple's Choice to Wings by Birdy, Ellie Leach will hope to top the leaderboard again with an American Smooth, and Krishnan Guru-Murthy is also tackling a Couple's Choice to You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon.

Layton Williams will perform a Jive to Shake Ur Body by SHY FX, GB News star Angela Rippon is tasked with a Waltz, and Angela Scanlon will hope to impress with a Samba to Jennifer Lopez smash Ain't It Funny.

Completing the line-up for this Saturday is Nigel Harman's Tango to Nothing Breaks Like a Heart by Mark Ronson, Bobby Brazier's Argentine Tango to Sail by AWOLNATION, and Adam Thomas's Rumba to Dancing on My Own by Calum Scott.

Diehard Strictly fans have since taken issue with the routine given to Thomas seeing as he narrowly avoided elimination last week after landing himself in the dreaded dance-off with McDermott.

The Rumba is a notoriously tricky dance and has often been regarded as a major obstacle for celebrities to overcome when they're tasked with it each year.

In fact, host Claudia Winkleman even pointed out last year following Will Mellor and Nancy Xu's performance of the dance: "The Rumba is particularly hard for male celebrities, isn't it?"

The Rumba is also one of the few dances that fail to garner perfect scores of 40, with former finalists AJ Odudu coming close in 2021 with a score of 39 and Molly Rainford racking up 37 last year.

Add to the mix the fact Thomas has had to miss a day's rehearsals this week due to filming commitments on Waterloo Road and fans aren't exactly optimistic.

"No dancing today,” Thomas penned in a photo shared on Instagram alongside a sad emoji as he posed from the set of Waterloo Road earlier this week.

Thomas has also been plagued with other hindrances away from the ballroom this series, including pulling out of It Takes Two last week after feeling "under the weather", having to cancel a whole day's training due to illness a few weeks ago, and the fact he's battling rheumatoid arthritis.

Taking to Reddit after the routines were unveiled, fans feared the worst, with one saying: "Rumba for Adam post a dance off? Yeah it’s not looking good. They’re giving the couples choices to pairs they anticipate being the next few out it seems."

A second claimed of the BBC producers: "They want Adam to go next, don't they? Giving him a Rumba after being in the dance off. That feels just mean."

"Adam getting a rumba after being in the bottom 2 seems risky," a third echoed while a fourth bluntly put: "Rumba for Adam. Yeah the bus is waiting for him."

Another weighed in: "It's with great sadness that I say, It was good to have you on Strictly Adam. The production screwed him last week and will do it again this week. And he's not even training."

And the fears continued on Instagram, as one person wrote in response to the announcement: "They really want to eliminate Adam this week. And last week, they screwed him by putting him second."

Another Instagram user also added to fans' concerns as they simply typed: "Worried for Adam." (sic)

Thomas' fans will undoubtedly be hoping he has what it takes to remain in the competition and pull off a successful Rumba alongside pro partner Luba Mushtuk.
