Eamonn Holmes shared the hilarious ways he tries to prevent trick-or-treaters approaching his and wife Ruth Langsford's door on Halloween.
On Tuesday evening, houses up and down the country were adorned with creepy decorations as people flocked to the streets for their annual attempts to gather as much candy as possible.
But an unimpressed Eamonn was keen to discuss with Breakfast co-host Isabel Webster why he didn't dive headfirst into the festivities.
"Let's talk about trick or treating last night, okay!" Eamonn quipped on Wednesday's show as Isabel let out a wry smile.
Revealing the measures he goes to in order to try and stop costume-wearing strangers from knocking on his door, Eamonn continued: "So as usual for me, we in the Holmes household turned off all the lights.
"You said do not bother me!" Isabel joked to which Eamonn mused: "I didn't even... I would've put a notice up which would've said, 'Do not bother me', but we didn't do that.

"But it didn't stop people from ringing our doorbell and doing it! They were still coming to the door," Eamonn vented.
"Little wee children?" Isabel asked to which the GB News star replied: "I don't know who it was, it was parents - it was dark! I couldn't even see through the security cameras it was that dark."
While his deterrence didn't work with trick-or-treaters, Eamonn still stood firm as he declined the opportunity to open the door.
"No, no, no!" Eamonn answered when Isabel asked if he opened the door. "So anyway, here's the thing that gets me... trick-or-treating, I understand the treat aspect of it, what happens if anyone actually said, 'No, you're not getting any sweeties', what happens?"
Isabel explained: "Well, where I grew up, people used to actually say, 'Trick or treat', whereas a lot of kids just put their hand out and expect sweeties.
"I don't know, (but) if my parents declined to answer the door... we used to get eggs thrown every now and then at our front door!"
Eamonn grimaced at the thought as Isabel continued: "I didn't go trick-or-treating as a child but we used to get eggs thrown.
"I think it was if you didn't seem to have the lights on or didn't seem to be getting in the swing of it, you got egged!"

A sympathetic Eamonn weighed back in: "Yes! And that's an awful thing to clear off your door and windows that sort of thing as well."
As Isabel moved to reflect on her "great" experience with her children from last night, Eamonn added: "I think for a lot of people it's a great social thing - neighbours with neighbours, parents with children, children with other children as well."
However, the evening took a rather sour turn for Isabel's family when she revealed her son was feeling under the weather and when he returned home, "he emptied his bucket of sweets and threw up into it".
"That was nice!" Eamonn sarcastically replied before he quipped: "As long as no one thought it was a sort of glowing, green goo they would spread over their face or something!"
