The comedian has gone undetected so far but made himself look guilty during the tense discussion

Celebrity Traitors villain Alan Carr has had a relatively easy ride so far in what has been dubbed on social media as the series with the "worst Faithfuls of all time."

While the comedian has managed to stay under the radar on the popular BBC show, a faux pas during Thursday's roundtable could mean he's in hot water.

Mr Carr is a fan favourite, with the comic having joined forces with Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns to become an unlikely Traitor.

Luckily for the trio, the Faithfuls have so far only banished more of their own, making the Traitors' game easier.

Thursday's episode could see things changing though. During a tense roundtable, Mr Carr let slip he had forgotten he'd won a shield earlier in the episode, meaning he couldn't be killed by the Traitors that night.

He'd been awarded the protection during one of the missions, and while Faithfuls are always delighted by the luxury, Mr Carr acted very shifty by forgetting his win.

As conversations got heated, former rugby star Joe Marler told Mr Carr: "But they [the Traitors] won't murder you tonight."

Assuming the sportsman was on to his Traitor status, a concerned-looking Mr Carr asked: "What?"

After a long pause, he reminded the comedian: "You've got a shield."

Mr Carr quickly caught himself as he replied: "Oh yeah, I've got a shield," prompting Mr Marler to comment: "I give up, I give up."

The 49-year-old has managed to brush off similar mistakes, and while the Faithfuls once again banished the wrong person on Thursday, attention soon turned back to the strange moment when they'd left the roundtable.

"Alan forgot he had a shield," Mr Marler later pointed out to Lucy Beaumont, Ms Burns and Nick Mohammed.

"Maybe because it's not important to him!" Ms Beaumont clocked, adding: "You don't forget you've got a shield."

Viewers believe the slip-up could well lead to Mr Carr's exit, with several taking to social media to express their sadness at the thought of losing the funny man.

One wrote on X: "#CelebrityTraitors Alan to go on Wednesday because of his shield blunder, CAN'T be overlooked. Jonathan on thursday and then MAYBE they have enough time to rat out Cat."

"Absolutely obsessed with every moment of #CelebrityTraitors. Joe Marler being the only one of the Faithful with a bit of a clue. Alan forgetting he had a shield. Cat literally doing nothing and slipping under the radar. Nick sabotaging the task and still being wrong," a second wrote.

"Alan has slipped up in forgetting he had a shield! #CelebrityTraitors," another agreed.

"Mad to me how rubbish these faithful are. Got to be an ego thing its so obvious who the traitors are. Alan forgot shield. Cat always say Stephen or Jonathan but never votes Jonathan. #CelebrityTraitors," another complained.

"Joe has clocked that Jonathan is a traitor, has clocked that Alan forgot that he had a shield and is also is suspicious about Cat. He is so close to catching the traitors but everyone around him is insane #CelebrityTraitors #TheTraitors," another noted.

Someone else added: "If Alan isn’t banished tomorrow after forgetting he has a shield the traitors deserve to win #CelebrityTraitors."

"Oh man I really hope Alan hasn’t just f***ed himself over… He needs to be able to play the forgetting the shield thing really well or it could be over for him… I really want him and Cat to win… #CelebrityTraitors," one concerned fan penned. (sic)
