One team on the antiques show raked in a staggering amount when a watch went to auction

Bargain Hunt expert Raj Bisram was left stunned by an unexpectedly high valuation of a watch in a classic episode of the antique programme which recently reran on the BBC.

The show saw contestants Nathalie and Karl team up against Adam and Jemma, all of whom were tasked with finding a fashion accessory they thought would bring in a decent profit.

The format sees two teams competing for the best finds, and in this instance, it didn’t take long for both to bag items that caught their eye, with Bisram commenting on their speed.

“This is probably one of the easiest teams I've ever had,” the 68-year-old admitted, adding: “20 mins down, two items. It's a walk in the park, what else can I say.”

Nathalie and Karl spent £130 on a 1970s vintage Omega watch, along with a few other items.

Auctioneer Tim Wonnacott was delighted by the watch, labelling it “the height of fashion".

Nathalie and Karl managed to double their investment from the timepiece to earn £260 on their purchase.

After the gavel was slammed, Eric Knowles commented: “You doubled your money. Bought for £130, sold for £260. Good stuff, eh?”

The Bargain Hunt contestants began to celebrate with the experts, over the moon at the incredible profit they'd bagged.

Their second item, the Clarice Cliff, earned the pair an extra £4, and after selling off their selected items, Bisram revealed the duo’s Bonus Buy - a set of bowls that bumped up their earnings even more with an additional £16.

The find saw them make an impressive £165 profit from their original £130 spend, leaving them ecstatic.

While the show's focus is on the contestants and their discoveries, it has made household names of a number of the antique experts who offer up their advice.

Among the big names from the show is Natasha Raskin Sharp, 37, who has also starred in similar programmes such as Antiques Road Trip.

The presenter hasn't been centre stage on the show in recent episodes because she recently welcomed her first child with her husband Joe.

Updating viewers last week, Raskin Sharp, who also fronts a radio show, talked about a return to work and the progress of her nine-week-old daughter, Jean.

Taking to her Instagram page recently, the radio presenter shared a sweet snap of herself with her little one huddled close to her in a baby carrier.

She penned: “9 weeks in already…starting to feel human again! And Thursday nights at @bbcradioscot are starting to feel less, shall we say…wild? Not a nursery rhyme in sight on tonight’s playlist — check it out from 10pm on @bbcsounds. X” (sic)

Raskin Sharp confirmed in late February that she was back on the radio for listeners to tune in, urging them to do so.

It didn't take long for fans to rush to the comment section on her latest post, admiring the adorable post.
