The King has teamed up with Jellycat to produce a royal teddy line

King Charles has unveiled a charming new collection of soft toys, drawing inspiration from Princess Charlotte's well-documented fondness for Jellycat teddies.

The 11-year-old princess is understood to be obsessed with the cuddly toy brand, which has turned into a global phenomenon in recent years, prompting her grandfather to commission his own royal version.

Dubbed "Tea at the Palace," according to The Sun, the delightful new range celebrates the quintessentially British tradition of afternoon tea.

This elegant custom dates back to 1840, when Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, introduced the practice to bridge the lengthy interval between luncheon and evening dining.

Shoppers can find the collection at Buckingham Palace's Garden Shop throughout the summer months, with items also available through the Royal Collection Trust's online store.

The range features an assortment of afternoon tea staples transformed into huggable companions.

Fans of traditional British fare will discover a plush cucumber sandwich alongside a Victoria sponge cake.

A Battenberg and cupcakes round out the sweet treats on offer.

Completing the ensemble are a teacup and teapot, ensuring young collectors can stage their own royal tea parties.

The collection represents a distinctly British take on the soft toy market, blending palace prestige with childhood whim.

Prince William expressed his delight at the new merchandise, declaring: "My children will love these. They are children's currency."

The Prince of Wales's three youngsters already possess their own Jellycat collection, according to Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Catherine told a local during a visit to Scotland earlier this year that Charlotte had "lots of teddies on her bed".

The princess has previously appeared clutching one of the beloved soft toys in official portraits.

Her parents received a pair of Jellycats as gifts during a Buckingham Palace garden party last year.

Prince George, now 12, and eight-year-old Prince Louis share their sister's enthusiasm for the cuddly brand.

The royal endorsement suggests the Tea at the Palace range may prove equally popular with young admirers nationwide.
