The BBC star left her fans thrilled with the news

BBC Antiques Roadshow star Theo Burrell has revealed she had finally married her partner Alex after 13 years together, celebrating their nuptials in Edinburgh on March 28.

The 38-year-old antiques expert, who has featured on the popular BBC programme since 2018, received a devastating grade four brain tumour diagnosis in June 2022.

Doctors informed her at the time that she had approximately two years to live, and she has been keeping her fans updated via her Instagram account.

Sharing the happy news, she uploaded an image of the couple looking lovingly at one another on their special day.

For the ceremony, Ms Burrell wore an elegant white gown featuring a bodice embellished with pearls and sequins, paired with a classic white veil.

She captioned the post: “On 28th March Alex and I celebrated our wedding with our closest family and friends and it was amazing!!

“Not only did we have a lot of fun but it feels so nice to be husband and wife after all these years together.”

She went on to thank their photographers, make-up artist, hairdresser and the catering for making her feel special throughout the day.

Ms Burrell ended the post: “I'm still sleeping off the exhaustion and a cold but it was worth every second!

“Next up I have a scan to get through... But we'll deal with that when the time comes. Thank you so much everyone.

“It was very special to make it to the wedding day, let alone have sunshine, good food and champagne!”

One overjoyed fan wrote: “Oh my gosh Ducky, what a beautiful photograph of you both. The way they've captured that moment when you're looking into each other's eyes, and the rest of the world just disappears for a while. Congratulations to you both.” (sic)

The television star has been open about her health struggles while continuing chemotherapy treatment.

When she received her diagnosis in June 2022, her son was only a year old, and medical professionals told her the tumour was "incurable aggressive" and would ultimately "return and kill me".

Shortly before Christmas, Ms Burrell learned her tumour had increased in size by 3cm, meaning she needed a second surgical procedure.

She subsequently revealed this operation had affected her eyesight and, in an effort to raise awareness, she shared images of her surgery scar with followers on social media.
