Since 2002, the duo have been presenting the ITV show and recorded over 130 episodes, with tonight being their final adventure.

Over the two-hour special, they looked back at all their memories from the shows, joined by famous faces and took part in the final Ant v Dec challenge.

Tonight, Girls Aloud were their guest announcers, and were joined by Simon Cowell, Alison Hammond, Rylan, Craig David, Josie Gibson, Jordan North, Scarlett Moffatt, Andi Peters.

Tony Hadley, S Club, The Kaiser Chiefs and Stephen Mulhern were also amongst their special guests on the spectacular show.

As their time came to an end, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! presenters thanked all their viewers for following them on the journey and sticking with them for 20 series.

Giving their final speech, McPartlin said: “Saturday Night Takeaway is the kind of show Dec and I watched on Saturday night growing up.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to have made the show and have been part of your Saturday nights for 20 years.”

Donnelly became emotional and added: “When we started this back in 2002 we thought we would be lucky if we got to do this for maybe a couple of years.

“So what’s happened has been beyond our wildest dreams. We have truly adored every second of making this show.

“But there is one thing that we have never ever forgotten, and that’s the fact that it's not our show, it’s your show.

“So we’d like to say a massive thank you to you, our incredible audience.”

The pair were soon joined by McFly singers Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones to sing their own version of It’s All About You.

As they came to the end of the song, they picked up the atmosphere and began to belt out Celebration by Koll & The Gang and Pat Boone.
