The heatwave is set to last until Wednesday, where thunderstorm weather warnings have been issued across England and Wales.

The UK weather forecast for the next 5 days:

Today

It will be rather cloudy in the northwest and far north with some rain or drizzle, turning heavier in northwest Scotland later. Elsewhere, a dry day with sunny periods and becoming very warm inland.


Tonight

Rain moving southeast across northern areas, followed by clear spells and scattered showers. Central and southern parts dry with clear periods, but low cloud and mist affecting some western coasts.

Monday

Sunny and hot in southeast England. Band of cloud and some rain or drizzle over northern England and Wales sinking south and fading. Breezy with scattered showers in the north.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Fine and dry for most at first, but rain in the northwest on Tuesday. Very warm or hot in the south with thundery showers developing on Wednesday and into Thursday.
