TUI has announced a significant expansion at Cardiff Airport, introducing new destinations and exclusive routes for Welsh travellers.
The expansion aligns with Marella Cruises' winter programme in Gran Canaria, creating more opportunities for winter getaways and summer holidays from Wales' national airport.
Welsh travellers will benefit from an exclusive new route to Fuerteventura, doubled service to Gran Canaria, and increased flights to Tenerife.
The additional capacity means approximately 20,000 more holidays will be available for sale from Cardiff.
Gran Canaria offers sunny weather all year round
GETTYTUI will launch its exclusive route from Cardiff to Fuerteventura on Saturday, December 20, 2025, just in time for the Christmas holidays.
The major airline is doubling its flights to Gran Canaria, increasing from once to twice weekly starting Thursday, December 18, 2025.
The Gran Canaria expansion ties in with Marella Cruises' Canary Island itineraries from Cardiff Airport aboard Marella Voyager.
These cruises include the "Island Explorer" route, departing from Las Palmas and visiting destinations such as Tenerife, Lanzarote, Madeira and La Palma before returning to Gran Canaria.
Holidaymakers will enjoy even greater access to Tenerife, with TUI increasing flights from three to four times weekly, beginning on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Following the winter season, TUI will continue to offer these expanded services into summer 2026.
TUI UK and Ireland commercial director Phillip Iveson said: "We're absolutely thrilled to expand our choice for holidaymakers travelling from Cardiff Airport, with exclusive new routes and additional flights that make it even easier for travellers to reach fantastic destinations from their doorstep.
"We know that Welsh holidaymakers love the Canary Islands, and this increase in capacity means they can now fly more frequently and at more convenient times."
