A travel expert shared seven sights to add to your bucket list

If you are ready to book a holiday but are lacking inspiration, social media is full of tips and recommendations.

An expert has reviewed online content to find the seven "new wonders of the world", based on what is trending in travel content.

Company director at eShores, Gavin Lapidus, named the attractions and destinations taking over on social media and shared why you might want to see them for yourself.

A collection of natural wonders and epic man-made creations filled out the list, with locations from Europe to Asia having something worth seeing.

Blue Domes, Santorini

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Santorini is a trending travel destination thanks to its gorgeous white-and-blue buildings, which look like something straight out of a film.

"Blue domes, cliffside sunsets and whitewashed villages make Santorini a permanent viral favourite. It consistently ranks among the top 10 most Instagrammable destinations worldwide and remains the blueprint for aesthetic travel," the expert said.

Tirta Empul Temple, Bali

A holiday to Bali is a truly unique and memorable trip, and this is one of the most respected temples in the area.

"Famous for its holy spring and centuries-old purification ritual, Tirta Empul Temple offers a peaceful blend of tradition and natural beauty, earning its place as a modern wonder."

Burj Khalifa, Dubai

The impressive skyscraper is fairly new - opening in 2010 - but has already become an iconic part of the Dubai skyline. And it can't be missed, measuring a staggering 829.8 metres.

The travel pro said: "Home to the tallest building in the world, futuristic skylines and world-first attractions, Dubai is the modern world’s answer to 'jaw-dropping'. Its blend of luxury, spectacle and record-breaking design secures its place as a contemporary wonder."

Maruyama Park, Kyoto

Japan has soared in popularity among holidaymakers in recent years, and visitors should not miss the chance to see Kyoto's iconic cherry trees bloom in the spring.

"Visit Kyoto’s most famous weeping cherry tree and see the park transform into a sea of soft pink each spring, drawing visitors who share everything from nighttime blossom illuminations to traditional hanami picnics under the blooms."

Cinque Terre, Italy

British holidaymakers searching for recommendations closer to home should consider the charming seaside village on the Italian Riviera. Holidaymakers can fly to Pisa in around two hours from London before travelling to the region.

Petra, Jordan

The ancient city of Petra is a world-famous archaeological site with lots to see and explore.

"Carved into rose-red cliffs, Petra combines history with blockbuster visuals," the expert added. "Thanks to its cinematic appeal, this archaeological treasure remains a hit across Instagram and reel content."

Banff National Park, Canada

The national park has deep valleys, the famous Rocky Mountains and dramatic glacial lakes, making it the ideal place for nature lovers.
