Major train cancellations come as Britons gear up for summer

The Eurostar is a popular option for Britons who want to explore Europe. However, news of impending travel disruption could thwart holiday plans.

Holidaymakers are advised to brace for impact between now and September as Eurostar issues updates.

The railway company has announced significant disruptions to its European network between May 18 and July 19, 2025, due to "operational restrictions".

Several trains between Brussels Midi/Zuid, Amsterdam Centraal, and Paris Gare du Nord will be cancelled.

Passengers booked on affected services will need to make alternative arrangements.

The disruptions extend beyond the Brussels-Amsterdam route, with additional cancellations announced across Eurostar's wider network.

This comes as holidaymakers were hit with two months of European travel disruption that is still ongoing.

German services between Paris Gare Du Nord and Cologne Hbf will be cancelled on June 19 and July 10 due to "operational restrictions".

French routes are also affected, with a "limited service" between Amsterdam Centraal and Disneyland Paris (Marne-la-Vallée Chessy) from June 6 to June 15 due to engineering works.

Disruption has also been announced for the Dutch network, as engineering works force the cancellation of services on May 31, June 1, June 28 and June 29. This will affect the Amsterdam-Disneyland route.

Several trains will also be cancelled between July 20 and September 6, affecting Brussels-Paris routes across the school summer holidays.

These changes will impact thousands of summer travellers across Europe, including families keen to experience Disney magic with little ones.

However, Eurostar has outlined several options for affected passengers.

Travellers can choose one of the following options: exchange their booking for free to travel in the same travel class at a different time or date, claim an e-voucher valid for 12 months, or request a refund.

They have three months from their scheduled departure date to select their preferred option.
