Doing your research into a country before you travel is important so you can familiarise yourself with the culture, customs and any safety risks.
A new survey has found the 10 safest places to visit this year, and with a dream destinatoin just three hours from London taking the crown.
Iceland ranked first based on 20 metrics, including crime rates, health infrastructure, natural disaster risk and civil freedoms.
It received an impressive safety score of 94.45 out of 100, performing particularly well for crime and safety metrics.

Iceland is a favourite among British holidaymakers as they hope to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights or take a dip in the Blue Lagoon.

It is also great for holidaymakers looking for an adventure in nature. Visit Iceland states: "Every day, there is an adventure waiting to happen in Iceland.
"With its abundance of mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, rivers, lakes, caves and otherwise rough terrain waiting to be tackled, Iceland is truly an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. But, it is also a warm and welcoming place for the rest of us."
Denmark was the next recommendation in the research by CryptoWinRate. The experts said: "Denmark is a Scandinavian country known for its happiness index and quality of life. Not only is it incredibly liveable, but ranks as the second safest country in the world with an overall score of 91.13."

Closer to home, Ireland's charm and security put it in third place, meaning Britons don't need to go far for a fun and scenic holiday with "excellent crime and safety ratings and strong health infrastructure".
The experts added: "Ireland is a nation filled with natural beauty and enveloped in history, culture and tradition. The capital Dublin is a touristy hot spot with the famous Temple Bar, Guinness factory, as well as various museums and castles that make it a great place to travel to."
New Zealand and Canada were recommended for those hoping to travel outside of the continent, both great places for vast wilderness and friendly locals.
