Ryanair has announced a new route will go from the UK to Spain this summer

Ryanair passengers will be able to travel from Cardiff to Tenerife as the airline expands the routes running in summer 2024.

New flights will run from the Spanish island to eight different parts of the world. This includes flights from Cardiff in the UK and Knock in Ireland.

Britons looking to extend their holidays beyond the Spanish destination will be able to travel from Tenerife to new destinations including Marrakesh in Morocco, Budapest in Hungary, Memmingen and Düsseldorf-Weeze in Germany, Pisa in Italy and Toulouse in France.

The flights between Cardiff and Tenerife North will begin in the summer and will join several routes that already fly from UK airports including Edinburgh, Bristol, London, Bournemouth, Liverpool and East Midlands.

A three-day promotional offer will launch with flights starting from 30 euros (around £25).

Ryanair’s country manager for Spain Elena Cabrera said: “As Tenerife’s number one airline, Ryanair is pleased to announce its summer 2024 schedule for Tenerife.

"[This has] eight new routes to Budapest, Cardiff, Marrakech, Memmingen, Knock, Weeze, Pisa and Toulouse, offering Tenerife citizens and visitors even more options for urban weekend getaways and summer vacations at the lowest fares in Europe.

"Our $400million (£315million) investment in Tenerife and our 18 per cent traffic growth underscores Ryanair’s commitment to Tenerife’s tourism growth and connectivity."

The eight additional destinations will bring the total number of routes flying from Tenerife to 53, while creating 600 new jobs for pilots and cabin crew.

This comes as Ryanair launches three new brand new routes from Edinburgh Airport starting within weeks.

Passengers will be able to visit Bergerac, Biarritz and Agadir with Ryanair from April 1.

Bergerac is in the southwest of France and is a popular tourist spot with a pretty old town that tourists flock to both in the summer and for a winter getaway.

Biarritz is another beautiful holiday destination in a similar part of France.

Agadir is a great option for those looking to experience the culture of Morocco and enjoy the beach and many bars and restaurants in the city.

Holidaymakers looking for an alternative way to travel this summer may choose to book a cruise and British cruise line Cunard has announced new routes going from the UK.

Britons can visit sought-after destinations including New York, Buenos Aires, Dubai and Melbourne while travelling on a luxury ship. Cruises go on general sale on March 7, 2024.
