The couple were upset to find the 'window seat' had no window at all

A newlywed couple were teased by Ryanair on social media after they complained about the lack of a window seat on their flight.

Mark Bowe, who was travelling to Ibiza with his wife, tweeted the flight company to moan that he didn't have a window beside his seat.

The passenger wrote: "Off on honeymoon now about to fly into #ibiza for the first time and we just can’t wait to check out the view on the way over… Oh…wait…. Cheers @Ryanair #nowindow #wheresmywindow #someview."

But in response, the airline mocked the holidaymaker from their official Twitter account.

Ryanair followed up with a reminder that there is such a thing as 'random seat allocation'

The social media employee quoted Mark's tweet, saying: "She’s regretting marrying someone who can’t read the fine print."

And then followed up with a reminder that there is such a thing as "random seat allocation".

However, Ryanair wasn't finished humouring the couple as someone wrote "Ryanair admin your days are numbered" to which the budget airline responded: "Like this marriage".

Following the altercation, the company's bio now says "we sell seats, not windows" as one Twitter user joked: "They have absolutely done you in their bio".

It is not the first time Ryanair has given a wry response to a passenger as its comments follow another response to a customer who complained he was unable to sit with the rest of his party.

The man had chosen the random seat allocation option and Ryanair's social media team sarcastically replied: "I chose random allocation and I'm angry that we were randomly allocated."

The reaction divided opinion on Twitter with one user saying: "No doubt Ryanair would split a couple up if they were the only two on the plane, can't see why Ryanair would choose to tweet this complaint."

But the company remained unfazed and declared it was "providing Europe's number one relationship counselling service."

On Tuesday, Ryanair placed the biggest aircraft order in its 30-year history with up to 300 Boeing short-haul planes.

It revealed plans to carry 300 million passengers a year within the next decade.

Europe’s largest carrier signed a deal with the US aircraft manufacturer for 150 Boeing 737 Max-10 aircraft, which can carry 228 passengers — a fifth more than the current 737s.
