More flights will go to Asia this summer

Singapore Airlines is ramping up its Gatwick to Singapore services for summer 2026.

From March 31 through to July 2, the carrier will add three extra weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The same schedule returns from September 1 until October 24.

Starting July 3, Singapore Airlines will fly twice daily from Gatwick, keeping that double service running right through to August.

These additional Gatwick services, operating as flight SQ313, will use the Airbus A350-900. The aircraft seats 253 passengers across three cabins – 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 187 in Economy.

The extra flights fit nicely alongside Singapore Airlines' existing UK network. The carrier already runs four daily services from Heathrow and flies five times a week from Manchester.

So whether you're based in the south, north, or somewhere in between, there's now plenty of choice for getting to Singapore this summer.

AirAsia X is also getting in on the action, with daily flights to Kuala Lumpur launching on 26 June.

The service will stop in Bahrain along the way, using A330 aircraft to connect London Gatwick with the Malaysian capital.

Gatwick hasn't had a direct link to Kuala Lumpur since 2012, making this a proper reunion after 14 years.

Once there, passengers can hop on connecting flights to destinations like Jakarta, Manila, Tokyo and Melbourne through AirAsia X's network.

The new route means Kuala Lumpur becomes Gatwick's 15th Asian destination, with 57 long-haul routes available this summer.

Chief executive of London Gatwick, Pierre-Hugues Schmit, said: "The arrival of AirAsia X and flights to Kuala Lumpur is fantastic news for London Gatwick passengers.

"The new daily service will provide excellent opportunities to visit the city or onward connectivity across the region ideal for holidaymakers, businesses and the many British-Malaysian families who will now have even better options for visiting friends and relatives."

Group chief executive officer of AirAsia X, Bo Lingam, added: "Our return to London marks a significant milestone for AirAsia X, and we're excited to commence our operations at London Gatwick this June.

"This new daily route will enable UK travellers to seamlessly and affordably connect to Bahrain, Asean and beyond through our extensive Fly-Thru connectivity spanning over 130 destinations worldwide."
