The UK's markets have seen a huge spike in interest this year

Vienna's famous Christmas market is the one everyone's searching for this festive season, but a popular British market has also seen a spike in interest, according to new data.

The Vienna City Hall Christmas Market has seen a massive 352 per cent jump in searches compared to last year, making it 2025's most sought-after yuletide destination.

London's own Southbank Centre Winter Market grabbed second spot with a 179 per cent rise in interest, proving it's become a great alternative to the capital's busier festive attractions, according to data from travel insurance specialists InsureandGo.

Rounding out the top three is Brussels' Winter Wonders, which saw searches climb by 150 per cent year-on-year. British markets have made a strong showing in the top 15, with three entries securing their place on the list.

While it's not quite a traditional market like the others on the list, it's clear people can't resist the appeal of a Christmas shopping experience with a regal twist.

Head of communications at InsureandGo, Letitia Smith, said: "Christmas markets are at the heart of the festive season, and it's particularly interesting to see the mix that is capturing interest this year.

"Vienna's Rathausplatz has always been iconic, leading global search trends with such a dramatic increase could signal that people are craving quintessential European Christmas experiences more than ever. But looking at the broader trends, markets across Canada, the USA, and Ireland are all on the up as well."
