Britons have more options when travelling to Spain

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have unveiled La Palma as their fifth Canary Islands destination, expanding their year-round sunshine holiday offerings for British travellers.

The leisure airline and tour operator will launch services from Manchester Airport in April 2026, followed by exclusive flights from London Stansted Airport in October 2026. The expansion comes in response to sustained demand from UK holidaymakers seeking warm-weather getaways throughout the year.

La Palma joins the company's existing Canary Islands portfolio of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife, with the new destination being offered exclusively by Jet2 from Stansted.

Manchester Airport will offer two weekly services to La Palma on Mondays and Fridays, operating year-round from April 3, 2026. London Stansted Airport will commence its exclusive service later that year, with flights departing twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from October 26, 2026.

The new routes mark a significant expansion of Jet2's Canary Islands network, with La Palma becoming an exclusive destination for the carrier from Stansted.

Both flight programmes will operate throughout the year, capitalising on the archipelago's consistently warm climate and British tourists' appetite for off-season sunshine breaks.

La Palma, known as 'La Isla Bonita' or the beautiful island, is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve featuring 19 protected natural areas. The island offers diverse attractions from lush woodlands with sea views to volcanic landscapes ideal for hiking, alongside opportunities for stargazing under clear skies.

Jet2holidays has launched accommodation options across the island, with a selection of two to four-star hotels now available in resorts including Los Cancajos, Puerto Naos and Tazacorte.

These coastal destinations feature black-sand beaches and tranquil promenades, whilst the capital Santa Cruz showcases cobbled streets and colonial architecture.

Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo of La Palma Raquel Rebollo said: "The UK market is one of our priorities to open and attract to La Palma and we are delighted to have achieved this, thanks to great collaboration and hard work with Jet2 and other institutions." The tour operator will also offer excursions to help visitors explore the island's natural and cultural highlights.

CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Steve Heapy said: "The launch of La Palma gives holidaymakers and independent travel agents the chance to enjoy everything this incredible island has to offer.

"We are delighted to be expanding our presence across the Canary Islands from London Stansted and Manchester Airports by adding this brand-new gateway to our portfolio, appealing to holidaymakers looking to explore the island's natural beauty."
